I hope it will be Bama at Ole Miss in the first round of the playoffs.

I would love to see that match up. The atmosphere would be terrific.

I would not assume Alabama will be in the CFP

I know who definitely won't be.

Bama would beat that arse… especially without Lane being there.

How pathetic is to go from winning a national title in 2010, playing for one in 2013, and playing for an SEC title and shot in the playoffs in 2017, to pretty much only have the "God I hope we spoil Alabama's season!" reason for watching?
I'm genuinely curious.

Could be Bame and Ole Miss in SEC title game.

The tide has definitely brought in the little Bammer fishies to the trot line

If Bama loses one of their next two games, they will not be in the playoffs.

That would suck and hopefully be avoided if possible.
I realize at some point it's probably unavoidable with the SEC potentially getting 5 teams in the playoff but one of the cool things about the new playoff format is really interesting non conference match ups on campus in a playoff format.
I know the bowls will never allow it but I'd prefer it if the 2nd round playoff games were played on the campuses of the 4 teams that get byes in the first round

Yes, he was just trolling instead of being a bitter Auburn fan who can only hope Bama doesn't make the playoffs yet again

No, as the only way Ole Miss gets in is if A&M and Alabama lose this week; in that scenario, they play Georgia. Georgia's game this week is against Georgia Tech so they're conference record is set in stone.
The potential matchups are:
A&M vs Alabama (if both win)
A&M vs Georgia (if Alabama and Ole Miss lose)
Georgia vs Alabama (if A&M loses)
Georgia vs Ole Miss (if A&M and Alabama lose)

UGA is in the catbird seat here. Make the CFP and not have to worry with the SECCG. Get to lay back and heal up.

You people are too easy to troll, and yes, I do not want Bama in the CFP. For what its worth, I have pulled for Bama against OOC teams in the postseason.
I am also past being bitter, I am numb.

UGA and Ole Miss can both get that same luxury, though Georgia is on the path for a bye in the playoff.
The only thing that might cost them the bye is if Alabama wins out, and is given one of the top 4 spots on account of having wins over A&M and Georgia, both of whom likely only have 1 loss (to Alabama). That's a big IF, but it is possible.
UGA's easiest path is to have Alabama win the Iron Bowl and Texas A&M beat Texas, then Alabama lose the SECCG, pretty assuring them that #4 (or #3 spot, depending on Ohio State and Indiana) and essentially two byes compared to an Alabama SECCG loser who probably still makes the playoff at the #10 seed.

A lot of narrative building and recency bias takes place on conference championship weekend. If Texas Tech looks good in their conference championship game while Georgia is sitting at the house, I could see momentum build for Texas Tech to get the #4 see. Could happen. Could not happen.

True, and despite there only being one more week of regular season games, plenty of potential wrenches:
Auburn upsetting Alabama, dropping them from contention
Texas upsetting A&M, and Texas trying to get their name in the bucket
Michigan upsetting Ohio State, who then loses their title game
Georgia Tech upsetting Georgia
Washington upsetting Oregon
Mississippi State upsetting Ole Miss
LSU upsetting Oklahoma
Stanford upsetting Notre Dame
The last two are the least likely (I have a hard time seeing LSU's offense doing enough against Oklahoma's defense to win, but turnovers and special teams make it not IMPOSSIBLE, and Stanford beating Notre Dame would take a near-miracle), but the other 5 would not be terribly shocking. The Iron Bowl is a night home game for Auburn, Michigan has had OSU's number for years, Tech is not as good as Georgia but not a bad team by any stretch, and Washington would be ranked if not for a crazy upset to Wisconsin (they're 8-3, a FG away from 9-2).
MSU upsetting Ole Miss is the biggest wild card, as Ole Miss should win pretty handily but MSU has been salty and OM has a lot of distractions right now.
It's also possible NONE of these happen, but considering how this season has gone so far, I'm not presuming ANYTHING goes according to script this weekend. All of them could happen and the entire playoff setup go into full blown chaos mode as well.
Crazy, crazy season.
