I hate the spread in general. But that's just me. What I hate about this game is that it is being lauded as a test for oregon, when Mizzou beat Az state. Oregon will beat them by 60 and it will be a major victory for the ducks.

Let them do what they want. When they play real D's it slows them down, and gets them out of rhythm. It's not that big of a deal.

The Ironic thing about tonight is 90% of the Chip Kelly offense consists of 3 plays - Zone Read Wide, Zone Read Middle, and a Jet Sweep variation.
The way you defend it is Blow it up in the middle, like ASU did the 1st series. Force them into something 2nd and 3rd Long.
The SEC Strength destroyed the Oregon Line the last two times they faced off.

oregon's offense was better last season, was it not? so why on earth would anyone expect a different outcome if they played an LSU/bama defense again?

It is kinda cheesy that Oregon seems content with always wanting to catch the defense off guard and run plays when the opposition is not even set. If oregon actually lined up and ran at a normal pace man to man, they would get crushed and they know it. So i get it. They are little boys that can't hang with the men of college football. But hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

When asked three years ago but the AU spread he called it a gimmick offense. He said a disciplined defense that practiced against it will destroy the spread. Seems he was right.
Must i remind you about 28-27 Auburn in 2010??

I personally hate watching football like this. The offense doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that both defenses are completely inept, and I don't think that has a whole lot to do with the offensive scheme. They just suck.
Inept? Arizona St. has had about 17 possessions and its led to 7 points which was off of a turnover where they only had to go 20 yards.

You guys truly don't get it with Oregon. The reason they score as many points as they do is because most of the teams they play run the spread and dont take much time off the clock. Oregons had trouble scoring against the power running teams in the BIg 10 and SEC because they limit Oregons possessions and control the clock. The teams in the PAC 10 dont have those type of offenses. Its a conference full of hurry up spread attacks. Just look at the amount of possessions Oregon has against a PAC 10 team vs. the amount of possessions they would have vs. and SEC/Big 10 team (Ohio St and Wisky in recent years)

LSU defensive line will give aTm the same kinda problems Florida will. Should be a fun game to watch though. I've noticed a lot of home teams tend to come out flat for those 11 am kickoffs over the years.
With Oregon, I look at it like the NCAA basketball tournament. They will keep putting out good teams that'll be deep in the national title hunt and eventually they will get the right breaks and the right matchup to win one. Just not in the next two seasons.

Anyone complaining about the spread or saying it's cheap or too fast is just a whiny loser.
It's designed for a team that is inept up front,it's a misdirection offense which is used to overcome a lack of o-line talent.
You can't argue it's effectiveness, but it's definitely designed to keep the defense from getting the personnel it wants on the field.
It works fine in the PAC-12,but we've seen it doesn't work in the SEC without a generational player like Tebow or Cam.
