I am rooting sec much harder in basketball than I do in football.

We've been told for several years that our conference sucked in BBALL except for UK and that we have inferior competition. So we watched our teams get left out of the dance with similar P5 records of other conferences. It's only natural to now root for our rivals because we lost a lot of respect.
It's how other conferences feel about us in football.

I think it has to do with the teams in the Elite 8 not being elite in football - Florida has not really been truly a contender in awhile - yeah, they make the championship game but the East just sucks.
Thus they are non-threatening to root for.

Same here. I'd love to lie and say I wouldn't be heartbroken, and if we'd lost to Marquette or even Duke, I would've been okay with it. But I have bought in 110% now...so it's gonna hurt if/when we lose. Still will be incredibly proud of our guys and CFM bc nobody gave us a shot in hell of doing this and we did.
