Jff- Took the Aggies from a respectful, high class, republican school to hell. Manziel, the devils work. Hopefully we can respect them again for their honor and virtue after this shite stain leaves.

It is y'all's fault. If you would stop attacking our boy, we wouldn't be fighting back.

Not right after - they should have to do some penance first.

YOU have never seen? And YOU are? The single fanbase anti-uniting police? Are you kidding me?

First of all, being a pig fan around here means having thick skin and a iron shield to protect you from all the flames. Some of it is warranted I must admit. And I don't even like tAggy that much but jeebus christ.

There's not one fanbase here that wouldn't spin JFF's so-called controversy in their favor if he was their QB. If anybody says so their lying. If this kid was QB for Arky, Aub, OM, Mstate, or any other F middle to bottom tier program in the SEC you could guarantee the same results from the fans. I mean durr....

Sorry but players are already getting paid.(not including the $cam Newtons) In the form of a scholarship worth tens of thousands of dollars. Something a household of two working parents making decent wage would struggle to support.

To insinuate payment of CFB players would be a slap in the face to all former and current NFL players who paid they're dues and did what they were told AKA what's necessary to hit paydirt. Frick that. Let them earn it like everyone else.

What leaves me utterly amazed is that they stick up for this kid KNOWING he does not give one F about the school, it's students, it's so cherished TRADITION, or anything else that has anything to do with aTm. He went there b/c he had limited options. He'd love to play at Texas right now.

I just can't digest how much they put their own reputation on the line in order to stick up for someone who would screw them over in a second if it benefitted him in any way.

The only payment plan that I've heard that makes some sense is to treat all sports like a part time job. So, however many hours they practice pay them an hourly wage and Cap it at say 40hrs/wk or something like that. Pay everyone the same hourly wage, or determine hourly wage by revenue the sport brings in (ex. football players bring in more revenue they get 12/hr baseball players get 9/hr), across all sports. It likely wouldn't be a lot, but it's something and it's the only thing I've heard that makes some sense and relatively fair across all sports. But every one pays whatever the set amount per sport is across the country. So a&m is paying the same hourly wage to a football player that notre dame is.

A small stipend of 200-300 per month might be OK across the board but nothing crazy.

And you're going to give this out to women's field hockey players, too? Because Title IX (the destroyer of many mens' teams already) will dictate you do. And when most of the schools realize they can't afford that, guess what? Bye bye more men's teams.

I like your idea to pay like a part-time job but there's so many athletic departments across the country running in the red, how are those schools going to afford to add to their liabilities?

Most of you are confusing "paying" players with allowing players to make money off of their name/likeness.

If someone wanted to give me $500 to make an appearance at their car dealership when I played, why shouldn't I be allowed to capitalize on that? Or pay me to be in a local commercial? Or on a billboard? Or for some autographs?

You all have lost it

this alone will frick everything up

think about recruiting....School "A" is recruiting a player and a certain clothing store and a certain Dodge dealership starts offering money for "appearances" at said businesses on a weekend basis.
