Auburn is playing well and I'd have had them in the Final Four if they were in any other region, but UConn is an absolute wagon right now. They're better than the team who stampeded through last year's tournament. IMO, they're the best team coming into a tournament since 2018 Villanova.

Absolutely brutal draw for Auburn. They should have been higher than a 4 seed.

I'd like to have seen Auburn play a better OOC and better conference schedule. That's the thing that makes me wonder about them. They look the part but their bracket isn't as easy as folks seem to think.

As a fan of a team who manages to somehow always go up against that one buzzsaw or the white-hot Cinderella in the postseason, I can relate.

Auburn is no doubt a talented team, but it's hard to say if their SOS has really prepared them for a rock fight like this. As usual (lately), their guard play can be somewhat sus, which is the last thing you want going into the tournament.

But I do think Auburn matches up with UConn strangely well. Might be an interesting game if some things happen to go their way.

The only people that think the East bracket is easy is the committee

Based on me not having watched a single basketball game in at least 5 years, it probably being the only game I watched for 10 years previously, not following the sport at all and not knowing anything about the strength of teams other than quickly looking up the brackets..

I'm picking Purdue for my 1 in 64 chance in being correct.

agreed.. very accurate assessment waspy

figured regardless of our bracket/seeding, if we played well enough, we were prolly gonna face UConn at some point.. might as well do it early lol/smh..

hopefully we start well & earn the chance to get in there and mix it up with'em.. no doubt they're a beast and we should learn a lot about where we are as a team/program by facing them.

They really do. It is uncanny. The Mo Williams team being rudely introduced to Antonio Gates is the one that immediately comes to mind, even more than last year.

On the flip side, y'all's 2004 team wiped out the Josh Childress Stanford team in the second round, which is one of the more surprising second round tournament games that I can ever remember.

UConn is one of very few teams who can both outathlete Auburn and outcoach Auburn, and I say this as someone who really likes Pearl (Louisville should seriously consider him, IMO) and thinks Auburn is really good.

That's easily the most loaded region in the bracket. They have:

-Last year's champ and the best team this year
-A red hot Big 12 tourney champ
-A red hot SEC tourney champ
-The Big 10 tourney champ (although they're grossly overrated)
-3/4 of last year's Final Four
-BYU, who can get scalding hot from 3 in any given game
