That # was likely undergraduates, which was 18k as of Fall 2022.
Undergrad is the traditional # to look at.

Wtf man, you’ve only been on campus 4-5 times since graduating? All those extra people are online grad students, 99% of whom couldn’t care less about football.

Looks like they need to join the SWAC. Whoa! Didn’t realize they’re a minority school or non white focus university.

why haven't we renovated our football stadium?

oh idk, perhaps things like this are why?

47,000… you realize most are grad students that never set foot on campus and take 100% online.
This is a spot-on take...Ever wonder why The University of Phoenix doesn't have a huge football stadium? Their enrollment is just under 86,000 students. Of course...they don't have a campus...but still...right???

I had no idea that GT was determined to become the next U of Phoenix. Or maybe they are aiming more for the U of Southern New Hampshire.
How long before we see tv commercials hawking getting your GT degree while sitting home in your pjs and snacking on potato chips and Twinkies?
Thanks Techie for informing us of this major advance in GT education.
Who would have imagined it? Arrogant snooty old GT so proud of having online courses and bragging about how large it was making their minority majority trade school.
Yaaah! We’re bigger than Georgia!!! Talk about having an inferiority complex!

Seems they've become a diploma mill, but they still have a few thousand online students to go before they rival the likes of aggy, UCF, University of Phoenix etc..

Looks like they are working on it.

I’m fairly certain there are somewhere around 40,000 students on the UGA campus in Athens. The Griffin campus is not a diploma mill like GTs new program. I have no idea how many students it has. I imagine it’s like UAB is to Bama. A real campus

Hey Radio. What’s up with Purdue Global? You bought an online school and put your name on it? Seems like it would hurt your image.

Atlanta is a UGA and SEC city. While GT is being pushed hard by Ga State and Kennesaw State for fans and relevance

GT's own numbers
Roughly 12K undergrad with 8.8% being international students
Roughly 20K grad students with 38% being international students
The "about" section of the GT webpage states that it has more than 45,000 studying at all of its campuses combined including its European and Chinese campuses plus online.
The main campus in ATL does not have 47K students on it. Graduate students vastly outnumber undergrads.
Even taking into account all of the above, GT isn't competitive athletically because of student numbers.
