This 2013 schedule is the issue. I have my problems with the permanent rivals thing but over the long term I don't think it's the end of the world. This however is on a totally different level and it's almost as if competitive balance was completely disregarded.

Well, it's like I mentioned to c4st earlier. We still play LSU, so if y'all take care of business, it won't even matter.

The problem is that one team has a lot more room for error than the other one because they won't play nearly as many teams capable of beating them on any given Saturday with a funny bounce of the ball or something than the other one.

We get an additional huge game to play, enjoy it. If we were playing kentucky or vandy, when they would come to LSU tiger stadium it would be empty after half.

Enjoy big games.

You are missing the point. I love big games. It would be nice if Bama would get to play in some against the East sometimes.

Let Bama keep Knoxville Vandy, just let them play UGA like they were supposed to this year. I'm not sure why LSU is making back to back trips to Athens, the last of which occurred in 2009. Doesn't UGA owe us a return game? We just got one game with USC. A lot about this doesn't make sense.

Oh, there's no denying that, bruh... well, except for the small matter of the rule of the SECr which states, "Intangibles only count in games insofar as they support the poster's argument," but that's neither here nor there.

In all seriousness, I agree with you. I think most Alabama posters do, actually. We've just gotten the everliving frick flamed out of us over it in the scant hours since the news came down. We're all a bit defensive.

Why care about them though? So what they don't play big games besides us. Yes, I know most likely their only top 25 team they will play will be us, but that is just boring.

And if we lose that game, it our own damn fault. We have a bye before and after, and play a cream puff 2 weeks before.

I noticed that Bama didn't clamor so hard to play Tennessee twice in basketball. Must be one of those selective rivalries.

LSU fans gonna whine. Who cares if we play UK and you play UGA? We will one day play UGA while you play UK or Mizzou. You act like you're getting screwed when in reality this is just how it is. If we played the toughest schedule in the country we'd still do the same things we do with a weaker schedule.

Right, just like you did the last time you played a tough schedule back in 2010?

All we're asking for is for the schedules to be roughly equal and this is the response? Really?

That's because no one cares about basketball.

East team. East team. East team.

Not even a close comparison.

The last two years the SEC schedule was made up without any regard for future matchups. So the SEC had a two year stretch to make schedules as equal as possible.

2012
LSU - two top 10 teams in Florida, USC
Bama - two unranked teams in UT, Mizzou

2013
LSU - two likely top 10/15 teams in UGA, Florida
Bama - two unranked teams in UT, UK (maybe two first year coaches)

It is a close comparison when considering SOS which is the issue. Besides they also pick up Bama on there every few yrs as well. I don't hear them complaining about playing LSU every year. This is cyclical no one cared about playing them after Tebow because they were terrible, as TN gets better out schedule will get more difficult but we stil want that game on the schedule
