They know his tenure in Baton Rouge will not end well at some point.
But it’s all ok as long as he puts a championship-level team on the field before the implosion.

You have to acknowledge that Kiffin built that. He will probably build it at LSU, and then he will frick us at some point. This is a multi million dollar business. All we can do as fans is roll with the punches or check out.

To be fair, the vast majority of coaching hires don't end well, so why not get someone who has won a lot lately?

LSU has won 3 national championships in a quarter century and played for a fourth . Ole Miss has not won a conference championship since before there were pop tarts or push button telephones. You clearly don’t know the difference between an apple and an orange. Thankfully Lane Kiffin does.
