We buy tickets and merchandise, go to games and other team functions, donate (whether direct or through tuition).....all of which help support our football team. I personally think fans have a part in the success of a football team

Their mighty proud of those thugs. JuCo thugs. And Chiz is the biggest slime ball out of the bunch. Using preachers and chaplains to funnel money to these thugs while acting like a man of god.

I see your point, but not enough for me to feel sorry for them.
If this happened during an LSU championship I wouldn't expect anyone to feel sorry for me. I would expect them to feel sorry for the other players though.

That was my only point....wasn't looking for pity (I honestly think there is no need for it anyways), just saying fans have a part in the success of a team. I mean why do you think no one wants to play at Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night

I often return though. Unless I just don't see any point due to having already said what I wanted to say. Or I lose interest.

It's a bitter sweet thing for me. Half my family on my mother's side went to AU. One of my sister's went to AU. They are family. I love them and we have always had a good natured prodding back and forth. Nothing bad. I have many AU friends that are good people (much like Ross, AUCatfish, rb and NGT). They had a great time out in Arizona. They sent pictures sporting their new gear and enjoying themselves. As I looked at those pictures and read those texts I felt sick to my stomach for them because I know what's coming. You are correct tigerfan63, it's not their fault. They are blinded by their fandom and that most innate defense mechanism, denial. Alas, their denial will be broken by the cold-hard facts. That is the bitter part. I don't want them to hurt, but I won't be able to stop it.
The sweet part comes when those dick AU fans (such as those we see here like TiM and Luke) who are so unabashedly arrogant and condescending using the protection of a message board's built- in anonymity. They will have tears when it's all said and done. And those tears will be the sweetest and I will enjoy them. I really will.
Both the bitter and the sweet will happen, that I'm sure of. Sorry good Aubs. I like you guys. I really do. But this is going to get ugly.
