My comment was explaining the point of the comments during the press conference - Bc Sidewalk claimed he didn’t understand.
But Jimbo had enough of media types and SEC coaches who want to make cracks about A&M, and he let them know about it.

He's insecure because he knows 3/4 of those kids wouldn't have sniffed College Station if NIL wasn't a thing.

1. Because it’s false. Specifically referring to a $30 million slush fund. It’s irresponsible to make false accusations.
2. Nobody cares what message boards say. But when legit media people act like it’s gospel and SEC coaches take shots, he is going to call them out for it.

You still want to know why anyone who aced a test would get mad when other classmates accused him of cheating on the test? Because it’s insulting.

His point is A&M is playing by the same rules as anyone else. It’s no more of a factor than for any other school.
And multiple recruits have already said publicly that NIL wasn’t the main factor.

If someone had been making B's and didn't study for the test but suddenly aced it, yeah I think people would likely accuse them of cheating.
And it's likely the cheater would get pissed and melt down, much like Jimbo did.
It's just common sense and human behavior.

sure it wasn't a factor for some and for some it was.

Jimbo's 2 big head coaching jobs were at Florida State and now at A&M. Both these institutions are perceived by a whole bunch of folks (including quite a few of their own alums) to be lower in the pecking order than UF and UT respectively. Maybe Jimbo has let some of that defensiveness and jumpiness at FSU and TAM rub off on him. As for myself, I worked offshore with a slew of TAM people and generally had high regard for their know-how and professionalism. TU, on the other hand, could have been JR Ewing's alma mater.
