I honestly think the formula is there. The culture is here. The facilities are apparent.

What is it?

Its Brandon Allen's lack of clutch and penalties, mainly.

But the talent is not there on defense, you lost too much

And the injuries really hurt you

Your state is underpopulated and very white. Therein lies most of your problem.

it's playcalling and by extention Bert.

Why the hell do you pass on 3rd down when you are averaging over 4 yards a carry?

He was successful at Wisconsin but the script was laid out when he got there. I think he walked into a mess at Arkansas and never fully understood how to create his own winner

I hope Bielema and Butch both get contract extensions in the next couple of years. They both just need a little more time.

I don't either.
Bielema wouldn't be where he is if he didn't know how to coach.
I think it's a combination of (a) being in a brutal division with teams who just happen to be gellin' right now, and (b) lousy luck.
I'm convinced the pieces are in place to turn things around in Fayetteville; the fans just need to give BB some breathing room.
It's a tough request to make in this day and age, but I hope they do.

i think it's a combination of a shitty philosphy and lack of depth

1. we lost the game at the 10 min in the 4th quarter mark. you aren't going to be able to drive the ball down the throat without a balance offense like bert wants to do against SEC teams. too deep too good. this isnt' Illinois or Purdue .at the end of the game bert tried to create a 10 min drive. that's his goal and that's not gonna work

2. we have no depth at all on d except the d line. we have some good players but no depth. it's not that we "lost too much" we have like maybe 1 senior in the entire back 7 2 deep on defense. we don't have 3 decent linebackers at all. and on offense if we had a backup tackle that we trusted we win the game as we could hae took skipper out the game

Agree with this. Just lacking a few athletes in key positions. You guys lost a couple of awesome LBs. Hogs don't seem to be very fast in the secondary.

Amazing how just a couple of key positions can make such a difference.

Bert is a good coach. He has proven this already. Proved it last year as the Hogs came on the last month of the season. Hogs were stout by the end and could have beaten anyone in the SEC. Absolutely crushed texass... actually more of a destruction.

Need to beat Tennessee. Do that and there is a good chance to get back on track and go bowling.

hey dummy,

we've had a bunch of injuries and bert hasn't had time to establish good depth on the teams. has nothing to do with him not understanding how to create his own winner.
