I think the packline defense is not going to be able to defend a team that has great ball movement and shoots extremely well from the 3. Just like Purdue was able to get their points, Auburn will as well.

I actually do think the game in the football stadium will be an issue with their shooting.

It’s not like they’ve never defended that before.

Purdue lost.

The elite 8 was electric

Virginia/Purdue and MSU/Duke were as good as any tournament game I've seen in many, many years.

Purdue got their points because Carsen Edwards went absolutely ballistic

Even though it wasn't the Elite 8, Purdue-Tennessee has been my favorite game of the tourney.

They lost... and Edwards went 10-19 from 3 and had 42 points.

No other player scored in double digits or had double digit field goal attempts

Well duh, but basketball is a game of matchups and if Auburn is shooting like they can from the perimeter and passing to the open man, the packline defense is probably the least ideal way to play against them.

I would like to see the shooting percentages of games played in football stadiums compared to when they played the final four in basketball coliseums. Might be the same, it might just be me but it seems teams don’t shoot it as well in these large stadiums

Seems like it to me too.

I just remember that Uconn-Butler game, some people call it the worst national title ever.
Game ended 53-41
Butler shot 18% from the field and and 27% from 3
Uconn 34% from the field and 9% from 3.
(and it's not like one team took so much more free throws Uconn went 14/16 Butler went 8/14)

Although last year Nova shot 37% from 3 in their game, while Michigan shot 13%

So one team that knew how to shoot in it definitely benefited

And in our game against Gonzaga, we actually shot a respectable 35% from 3, but Gonzaga shot a ridiculous 47%

Not true. Basically any type of zone would be worse.

Basic misunderstanding of the pack line is evident. They contest the three extremely well.

just out of curiosity, why do you have such strong feelings about UVA?

28-0 Belk Bowl is likely the reason.....

I honestly don't care much about college basketball since UGA is irrelevant in it. With this being Auburn's first trip to the final four, I wouldn't mind seeing them win it. If Anthony Edwards lives up to the hype maybe more UGA fans will care next year.
