I remember when LSU fans said hiring Steele was going to be terrible too. Let's hope Morris is just as bad of an O coordinator as Steele has been as a D coordinator.

I thought that at the time too.

Turns out I was 100% wrong, he’s still got it.

Tight ends are almost universally under-utilized in college football, IMO.

Honestly it's why OJ Howard kept getting open when he tore up Clemson's secondary. They're so underused that defenses tend to forget about them. Dude had 5 rec for 208 yards and 2 TDs in the win and 4 rec for 106 yards and 1 TD the following year in the loss. So in two games 9-314-3 TDs.

And Bama fans were scratching their heads wondering why he wasn't used more than he was. He was a 1st round draft pick that never had more than 500 yards receiving in a season. 2015 he had 30 catches for 335 yards. Like you mentioned he had 5 for 208 in the championship game and the 2 TDs in the championship win, no other TD catches in the entire season. In 2016 he had 37 for 445, and the 4 for 106 in the championship loss.

There isn’t a coach in college football that has his own identity wrapped up more in an offensive style than Gus Malzahn. The dude clearly takes pride in it

“No doubt. One of the best in college football. We will be a 2 back inside power running team with play action. Blah. Blah. Blah.”

It’ll be a sugar huddle into a whirly bird play

Usually the sugar huddle leads to a toss sweep.
There is a play action out of it, but no orbit motion.

So we are going to combine several of our base plays?

Playbook might reach 7 or even 8 plays!

Look out SEC!
Gus finna eat!

You were really excited about this article to share so much of it in your OP.

Do you have an Auburn crush you want us to know about?

Ah the old “big changes coming in the form of utilizing tight ends more,” LSU fans are unfortunately all too familiar.

Here is what I believe will happen. I think it will be Chad's offense to start out, but Gus will keep a tight leash. A few games in we will start looking like world beaters. Then we will face a defense that shuts us down for a half....leading to Gustavo's mental breakdown where he retakes control of the Offense and we run HB Dive into the back of an OL over and over. Lose 2 games we shouldn't then Gus blames Chad so he can buy himself more time.( I actually don't believe this, but I am saying it because I do not want to say what I really think and hope in fear of jinxing it.)

Chad Morris before he was fired: “What do you expect from me? We’ve only installed 30% of my offense in 2 years”

Kendal Briles: “We’ve installed 85-95% before season 1 even starts”

Chode Morris is a fraud. Every team he’s left, Clemson, SMU, (and now Arkansas) have improved after he left.
