I do not think a team would attempt to claim it. It would discredit the Playoff System. Same reason nobody claimed it in BB.

Has anyone thought of this? What if the season starts on time, and is moving along normally, and right before a big game between 2 highly ranked teams, a player or two from one of the teams test positive for the virus. The first reaction would be what a bummer, Mac jones or Trevor Lawrence, or Jaime Neman, etc. cant play in the game. But thats not what would happen most likley. The most likely thing is the team with the virus would be unable to play the game and would have to forfeit due to a quarantine situation. At that point the season would lose credibility.

Bama will claim. The "18" stickers will start appearing on cars and trucks.

A&M wins. They are kings of ranking high in early October and then tanking in the 2nd half

Even if the season got to week 9 or 10? I imagine if there was a dark hourse candidate with a signature win or two in the top 4 they would at least unofficially claim it. Kinda like 2017 UCF.

I mean people can claim whatever they want, but it won't make it real.

Nope. There were some articles about it but never anything official as far as I know.

Although Florida State Legislature voted to name FSU National Champs. Same morons who named UCF champs too.

And would we receive rings and a trophy
like the 2005 AU People's National Championship
team ?

This is assuming that there is a second wave of COVID or that it gets worse somehow. Would the polls decide the national champ one last time? Would there be enough of a sample size to garner a solid claim?

We would claim it. We're due.

Hell of a lot more legit than 1941. So was 1993, for that matter. And we didn't wait 40 years to claim it when we thought nobody would notice.

I doubt they could because, not only would it be an incomplete season, but you'ld have even more schools with the same win/loss record at that time to determine anything.
