Nothing on the chin or anything, but we do go balls deep, especially on the OT.

But no one is stopping you from saying it. It's just not common that people who are smart enough and carismatic enough to get on tv/radio and have a voice or medium to reach lots of people share your views.

Publicly anyway, because it would destroy their career.

Exactly...supposedly it is no big deal anyways. If that is the case then why feel the need to make a big deal out of it? I don't feel the need to go around and tell people that I like women. If it is just an "alternative" lifestyle that is completely normal and ok, but do the ones who preach that make the biggest deal out of it?

Right, becuase i don't think that saying 'hey i'm against your lifestyle becuase it's different than mine' is really that popular of a stance anymore. I mean if lots of people agreed with it, wouldn't that then mean increased consumpiton of your ideas?

I could be wrong though.

I bet every coach in the SEC, if they were being honest, would admit they've coached gay players before. Those players may not have been out, but people still know. The question I'm more interested in now is whether we'll see more players open up about the topic, both in the college and NFL arenas, and how quickly this will happen.

I hope so...those who don't like it will be confronted with it, then it'll become more common and they'll be accepting of it, most likely, and then it won't even be an espn breaking news iteam when someone comes out...ideally.

I don't understand why we need to celebrate Neil Armstrong so much... I mean, you've been to the moon? Big deal, who cares. Why does the media feel the need to bring that up every time an anniversary comes around... Jesus. Keep your travel plans to yourself, Neil!! No one wants to hear that shite...

Well, as disappointed as I have been in Hugh Freeze, coaching-wise and recruiting-wise over the last few months, my respect for him just increased a great deal after reading that.

For those of you who consider yourselves "Christians" and use that as a reason (excuse) for your homophobia, be advised that Hugh Freeze is as deeply religious a man as you ever will find, but obviously he understands either a) that homophobia is not the way of a true Christian, only a phony one, and/or b) whatever his personal religious beliefs, it is his professional duty not to let them effect how he treats any of his players.

That is the mark of a true professional.

People ARE free to say negative things about homosexuals. Ever since the Duck Dynasty fiasco it's like no one understands what freedom means anymore.

I have answered this question in other threads, but I will try again. The reason gay men in masculine pursuits need to come out is so as to eradicate the stereotype that gay men are all "sissies." The reason most men (and some women) are so hostile to and disrespectful of gay men is because they regard them as being of deficient masculinity--cowards, who will run from a fight rather than defend themselves.

When the idea that gays are sissies disappears and other men truly respect guys who are gay, then it will no longer be necessary to provide evidence to the contrary. Not until then, though.

P.S. If you have your wife's picture in your office or ever appear with her in public, then you are, in fact, announcing to the world that you are heterosexual, implicitly. Most gay men do not have that option at this point.

I find it amusing how intolerant some folks are of those of who believe it to be a 'wrong' lifestyle and calling them 'intolerant'.
Both sides are entitled to their own beliefs.
