Set the formation to pull the safeties to the left side. Run the ball enough to slow the rush with play action. Roll the QB to extend the time before the slowed rush gets to him. WR on right side fake a block or run double moves on Dre. If Dre bites on the fake/double move go deep and stay close to the sideline. If Dre hangs with the WR bend the route to the inside with a wheel coming in behind up the right sideline. And make sure two other QB's are ready to finish the game.

Florida and Ole Miss attacked the Bama defense.... Bad idea...

It worked for a drive, at least.

Alot of 4-5 yd quick slants, enough running to keep the defense honest. Handful of PA to see if they bite.

Bama didn't face a good passing team aside from Arky all year and at that time Ark was decent and not near the offense they were at the end of the season. Would've been interesting to see them against a west coast style short pass team.

TBH though, the only team that could match talent with Bama this year was LSU and the one place LSU had questions was the one place that stunk it up back in the NCG.

Watch florida's defense in the 2003 lsu v florida game. That is how you neutralize a saban defense.

Derek Dooley said it best; don't score first, it just pisses them off.

I really don't think the "how" is a big mystery. We had a lot of speed in the front 7 so you'll need to run the ball inside to negate that strength.

The CBs are on an island a lot so you have to take some deep PA pass shots.

If you can suck in the LBs and force 1 or both safeties to play deep you can find room between them.

The two real problems are A)Matching talent for talent. Having an offense with the talent to make plays. And B)Execution. We didn't miss very many tackles and we didn't blow very many assignments.

Execution and accuracy with passes would be the biggest key, imo.

Patriots style. A lot of quick passes within 15 yards and then throw deep every now and then.

Never run on 1st down early, double moves on the cb's and involve the lb's in coverage with vertical routes with the TE and slot wr and use a few wheel routes. You have to have a very good OL, big physical wr's that can beat press man,an accurate qb and an interior running game to keep the front 7 honest.

What has Steve Spurrier done against Saban that has made him so successful against Saban's defenses? He's 3-1 against him and put up 35+ points in three of their wins. I would talk to Spurrier about what he would do to attack Saban's defense. He has certainly done the best job attacking Saban's defenses of any active coach in college football today.

The triple option worked alright.

GSU could have been a game if they'd had a good defense to go with it.

LSU should have put in a down field pass off the option. It would have worked and opened up their ground game.
