re: UGA is getting it done today

UGA has a great team and I expect them to come out really pumped for this game. I don't know about the OP's points....
Bama shaken by aTm loss-I don't think so. That was a tough 5 game stretch for us, we played horrible, and still had every chance to win it.
UGA crushed their rival-Well, God I'd hope so. GaTech is a mediocre team in a pathetic conference. Not really a confidence builder.
Backs against the wall-Maybe for Richt...he's got a poor record against top 10 teams and his teams have traditionally been soft.
No one gives them a chance-Bama may be favored but no one is saying that a UGA win would be a monumental upset.
In their home state-Bama fans know how to get ATL. Hell, we go there more than UGA fans do.
If UGA jumps out early that works greatly in their favor. If it's close in the 4th that will help them in terms of crowd noise but Bama is probably better in tight games where everything is on the line.
Saban has probably been looking UGA film since after the aTm loss since WCar and AU were games that we expected to win. If UGA cant pass early and Bama can run the ball I think that spells trouble for UGA late in the game.
Bama 28
UGA 17

re: Everyone will be running the spread within 7 years

This thread is 20 years too late. The spread started at small schools that lacked the talent to play power football and then spread through the western conferences. It hasn't served BifXII or PACXII teams well, imo. It de-emphasizes defense and allows teams like a Baylor or WVU to win shootouts against what should be superior teams and also hampers teams when they face opponents who can shut down the spread and run the ball themselves.
I take nothing away from aTm and their win vs Bama. Sumlin seems like a top notch coach and Manziel is phenomenal, but they caught Bama in the 5th game of our toughest 5 game stretch of the year. We were tired, beaten, and just slow. Take away the Bama game and aTm would be a 3 loss team with no real quality wins to speak of.
The spread is not a new revolution....it's a crutch for teams that can't play power football. Defense and a power run game still wins championships.

re: How would you attack a defense like Bama had this year?

I really don't think the "how" is a big mystery. We had a lot of speed in the front 7 so you'll need to run the ball inside to negate that strength.
The CBs are on an island a lot so you have to take some deep PA pass shots.
If you can suck in the LBs and force 1 or both safeties to play deep you can find room between them.
The two real problems are A)Matching talent for talent. Having an offense with the talent to make plays. And B)Execution. We didn't miss very many tackles and we didn't blow very many assignments.
Execution and accuracy with passes would be the biggest key, imo.

People who don't experience a high level of success often dislike those who do. It's that simple.
Hatin=Jealous more times than not.
I don't care what they say....every team in the country would love to be in Bama or LSUs shoes right now headed into the BCSCG. A week from now, the SEC will have won 10 of the last 20 BCSCG/MNCs. What conference isn't jealous of that?

OOC opponent-I almost always root for my SEC brethren unless AU is involved.
In conference-I don't care much outside of pulling for Bama. If AU and UT lost every game...I'd be fine with that. But I'm also fine if they win every game not against us cause it makes our win look that much better.

Either Bama or LSU will be champs. No other dog is in the hunt. Margin of victory won't mean squat either way.
OK State isn't a player in NC hunt.
