is Eason healthy? If not, who is his backup (since Richt didn't recruit Fromm)... Hypothetical goes off the rails a bit at that point.

He hammered Notre Dame with Miami this season. Why wouldn't he have done it with a more talented squad?
Because Richt and Miami played Notre Dame at home late in the year but would have played them 2nd game of the season on the road if still at UGA? With a QB not named Jake Fromm in his first start?

With Richt instead of having a full roster UGA would be 10 to 15 players below the limit. There would be no depth and Georgia would lose four games including the Florida game. Auburn would blow out Florida in the SECCG and lose to Oklahoma in the playoffs.

We would have lost to mizzou, Notre dame and lost to Auburn again in the sec title.

Kirby is still at Alabama waiting on the Georgia job to open.
Fromm signs with Alabama. Tua goes to Oregon or USC.
Pruitt is still at UGa as DC.
Tennessee is still looking for a head coach. Fulmer steps in as interim for a year.
Brilliant prognostication.

What if Saban had gone to Texas in 2014?

Mizzou wasn't any good. I agree about Notre Dame and Auburn in the SECCG.
Unless you want to go more in detail about what Kirby did for the program (we wouldn't have had Fromm, Chubb, Sony, Carter, Bellamy, or Thomas). Then yeah... it might have reversed 2016 and 2017 (2016 with 10 or 11 wins and 2017 with 8 wins).

Richt would not have won the east. Possible loss to Miss state. The Tennessee game would have been closer than 55-0. Mizzou beats us at home again. The 11 am kick at vandy turns into an ugly win. Florida would’ve Hung around into the late third. Sakerlina beats us at home the following week. Auburn destroys us on the plains for sure and we don’t bounce back.. Kentucky wins on a late FG and and tech also take it to the wire but we pull that out. I’m not sure richt could have convinced #27 and #1 to stick around either.

There you are.
You repeatedly stated the Ga/Bama games would be the lowest rated championship game ever.Lower than Bama/Clemson, Bama/LSU,etc,etc
And the reasons were "obvious"
Care to explain ?
Ratings peaked before halftime BTW not OT.

Bryce Ramsey comes in for Eason and he is an INT machine. We would maybe go 8-4

Hypotheticals are a stupid waste of time.

Well, there's 8 months separating us from the next meaningful kickoff so here we are.

How would that work?So CAR calls the exact play at the exact same point in the game and Eason gets hurt the same way?
As stated earlier, kind of a stretch.

Sure... it's just that the 2017 UGA team in his hypothetical would look different... I mean, if we're evaluating "what would Richt do" you can't (or at least shouldn't) include players that Richt didn't even recruit... The entire premise is ridiculous anyways. UGA fans (that aren't retarded) are happy with the outcome, even if we didn't like the method... and Miami got a good coach who is helping them move forward... win - win - win because shite got harder for UF, Auburn, and UT as well...

Well, it wouldn't have been Richt firing him, everyone above him despised Pruitt's guts and would have made Richt fire Pruitt even if he wasn't fired.
It was not a decision based on performance. A lot of messed up things were happening behind closed doors and it would be interesting to hear more.

True. At this point with there being a year of separation, you have no idea who's with and who isn't with Georgia if you hypothetically have Richt not be fired.
Posted on 1/17/18 at 1:09 pm to Eli Goldfinger
No difference in outcome. Kirby = Mark
Posted on 1/17/18 at 1:15 pm to Eli Goldfinger
Never know but by looking at his track record at UGA he would never have won the SEC, probably would have done like auburn and lost 2 in the regular season. His track record at UGA is there to look at, he never would have had this team as he never recruited or coached as well as Kirby.
Posted on 1/17/18 at 2:35 pm to Eli Goldfinger
His record is still the same through the regular season but the W-L’s are different. The reason being he would always win one he shouldn’t and lose one he shouldn’t. He loses to Mizzou or USC and beats AU in JH.
