Neither is deep enough and still have significant talent gaps.

OU is 2 levels deeper across the board on offense than A&M and everywhere on defense other than the DL.

Two time OU grad, but also objective.

OU is probably gonna drop a stinker or two to a team that isn’t good on paper but pretty great in intangibles. Any Texas school makes that list.

If the 2024 season was played this season, they lose to Alabama, Tennessee and Old Miss. All close, the QB play just won’t be elite with DG. Which puts them at upper middle class.

The best two season, I don’t see them lower than 3rd for the foreseeable future. What Brent is doing on a longer plane is hard to appreciate unless you follow exactly the variables included in his already successful career. The buy-in really is Dabo-esk, with better moving parts.

If 2024 were played this season they would be going to LSU. I can see them beating Tennessee in Norman before I see them getting a win in BR.

For both OU and Texas the fact that they can come in third or fourth and still possibly make the playoff will make a huge difference in how their fans feel about their teams. They will make it some years since they don't have to be top two. With OU and Texas, it will be tough for anybody but Bama and Georgia to consistently be top two.
