Probably, and this is just conjecture, playing QB in this league as a True Freshman and being fairly successful is something that coaches find more difficult than being an elite corner as a freshman.

Now who is the better player and higher future NFL draft stock, well that is Stingley Jr. hands down. Some commentators for ESPN and CBS both were on the sideline of the LSU-UGA game and the basic sentiment was that Stingley Jr. could after finishing against UGA, go suit up for the Falcons and play on the same field the next day, or wherever the Falcons were playing.

I feel like Stingley was the best freshman. But I have to cringe at the people citing Bo’s stats. His stats really don’t tell the full story of what he was able to do this hear. Put down Oregon in his first game, dominated Aggie, Played great against Bama. Came close against UGA and LSU. People underrate how hard it is to go 9-3 in the SEC with a true fresh QB, no real star playmakers around him either. If Bo’s accuracy ever improves he will be extremely good.

I guess you didn't read the first sentence where I said "Stingley led the SEC in interceptions and led all P-5 cornerbacks with a 89.2 PFF grade. Bo Nix was 86th in the nation in passer rating and 94th in completion percentage".

.....but I'm the dumbass, right?

let's debate......

Bo was the reason auburn lost games. Lots of wide open receivers and passes to the ground.

Not much left to debate.

Not a knock on Bo Nix but DSJr. was a top 5 corner in the country

Because of Bo's game against 'Shama.....

Mel Kiper said today that if Stingley was draft eligible this year he would go in the first round.

Bo got his team beat. They should've beat Florida. Stingley did not get his team beat. Pretty simple.

Dude won 9 games playing QB with Gus calling plays. He should be a Heisman candidate.

Stingley, a DB, has a much lesser role and importance than Bo Nix, who’s a QB. Pretty simple.

The award goes to the best freshman in the conference. Stingley is not only the best freshman, but the best corner and one of the best players.
