For the bednarik award? Jonathan Allen is the only player that has an argument at being better. Garrett and Peppers aren't better.

Dear tennfanatic,
It is a shame how Barnett is being disrespected, as he's had a tremendous season. But academic performance has become an unspoken criterium in many of these awards. As I pointed out in a previous discussion about Barnett, the fact that he is considered functionally illiterate puts his academic status in question and it has unfortunately hurt voter perception of him.
He deserves better.

Peppers might be the best overall player in college football this year regardless of position.

He leads the nation in sacks and tackles for losses. Plus all his sacks are in league play. Should have at a minimum been considered for the award.
