You’re bragging about being a flagship university and being geographically located in the middle of the SEC? Bro, that’s pathetic.

And UGA has more baseball nattys than Arkansas. Who cares if you have a winning tradition but never win the hardware?

Arkansas football fans are literally saying, “Remember that time we won 9 football games back in 1997? Man, those were the glory days.”

I will say they have lots of $$$ potential if the Waltons and Tyson Chicken dudes would care about athletics.

As bad as the Saban years were, it never caused Alabama fans to do this shite...to their undying credit.

Columbia South Carolina is one of the biggest shite holes in the entire country. Obviously you have not been to northwest Arkansas. Fayetteville and Bentonville are both very nice towns, Fayetteville is the closest to Athens I’ve seen in the country. There is big money up there with Walmart and JB Hunt both headquartered there. There is also no crime, mountains, lakes, and nice real estate. NW Arkansas is nothing like the eastern part of the state. Their rival was, and now renewed, is Texas. Any true college football fan knows that. Plus they have a solid rivalry with LSU.

What is this football money that you speak of?

Walmart, JB Hunt, Tyson Chicken, and a guy you may have heard of, Jerry Jones.

You read like someone who has never been anywhere. You might just want to stop starting threads.

No. Plus Texas would consider Oklahoma, Aggie, Baylor, and Texas Tech bigger rivals than Arkansas.

And have you ever been to Charleston or Greenville?

Maybe they should stop investing so much money in a non-revenue producing sport and instead use it for NIL money to attract better football talent. That would be a wiser investment.

Plus investing so much in baseball hasn’t paid off for them. UGA has more baseball nattys than they do.

Jesus Christ just stop.

I’ve been to both hundreds, if not thousands of times. I’ve also lived in Columbia for 6 years.

Both are nice towns, Greenville is nothing special. Downtown Charleston, Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, and IOP are all nice. Fayetteville is one of the best college towns I’ve ever been too, and northwest Arkansas is far more beautiful and nicer than anywhere not named certain areas of Charleston. I’ve been to every small town in South Carolina, so I know. You do not.

The poorest rural county in the USA for decades was Mississippi County Arkansas. It certainly hasn’t gotten better. Maybe some in Mississippi or Louisiana have gotten worse but I doubt they have overtaken Northeast Arkansas

These areas are farming communities, the eastern part Of Arkansas is. The land owners aren’t going to sell the land for development of businesses moving in and driving up labor costs as well. If you travel the eastern part along the Mississippi River delta you’ll find that it’s poor by design due to the farming community. The big houses don’t belong to the workers.

The further west and north you go there is a huge difference. I would imagine each state has issues in particular parts due to certain circumstances. But you wouldn’t be able to comprehend that I reckon.

We don't like to think of Baylor or Texas Tech at all. They are rivals in the same way Georgia State is a rival of Georgia. Or Emory University. If Texas hadn't been held at gunpoint by the political leaders at the time, there's no way Baylor or Texas Tech get invited to the Big 12.

Some of us don't even take A&M seriously. They had a run from 1984 to 1994 where they beat Texas 10 out of 11 times. It was sheer domination. Those were formative years for a lot of Texas and Texas A&M fans. But outside of that span, Texas has thoroughly dominated their instate foe, to the point A&M giddily escaped to the SEC, thumbing their nose the whole way.

There is a rivalry with Arkansas, but it's mostly one way. Those guys hate us and pass down the hate generationally. Texas fans around in the 60s and a little bit in the 70s thought of Arkansas as a pretty big deal, but the game traditionally came after OU, and it was often tough to get up for that game after the war in Dallas. Most famously in 1981 when a Lou Holtz team creamed us 42-11 in Fayettenam when we came in ranked #1. It would end up being the only loss of the season (we did tie a mediocre Houston Cougars team led by Bill Yeoman).

Both Mack Brown and Steve Sarkisian were shocked at how hyped the Arkansas fans get for the Texas game. There's simply not the same investment from the Texas side.

Traditionally Texas fans felt like we're above most programs being our rival. The exception is OU. We've always hated OU. It's almost too bad we became conference foes. It was something else to have that annual bloodbath and the only thing really at stake were bragging rights, yet it still meant more than every other game on the schedule.

I'll admit that's changed with A&M. When I was growing up it was just coming out of being an all male compulsory ROTC program with barely over 10,000 students, while Texas led the nation in enrollment with 50,000. Since then A&M is now fully coed, with a Greek system and everything, and 70,000 students attend there. They've taken over the suburbs in Houston. There's just so many more of them than there were when I was growing up. The close proximity to so many Aggies has fueled the rivalry in ways that the on field competition has not.

Once you leave Little Rock, the rest of Central Arkansas isn't bad at all.

Northeast Arkansas is a nice area especially when you drive through the mountains to the delta or vice versa.

The only real bad area of the state is Southeast Arkansas and such a bad area is still filled with history.

Yeah, Texas Tech and Baylor were in the same conference as you. Meanwhile, Georgia State has never been in the same conference as UGA and Emory doesn’t have a football team. You’re comparison doesn’t make sense.

Very Valuable. That gives most other SEC teams a sure win in football to balance out other SEC teams that are tough to get a sure win.
