In Urban Meyer's offense especially.

On one hand an athletic freak with a cannon of an arm.

On the other a slow, inaccurate loser.

In 10 years Brantley will be able to tell his kids, 'Your dad beat out the best QB in the NFL back in his day.'

And then their seasons are vacated 5 years later.

Same reason Tom Brady was almost not drafted and Ryan Leaf was almost taken over Peyton Manning

Evaluating talent is an inexact science.

This.

As a true fresh in 2007, Cam was the #2, if memory serves. He took a medical RS in 2008 when he injured himself in the opener and transfered to Blinn vice waiting for a disciplinary review or backing up Tebow in 09.

When did Brantley beat him out?

God, that QB depth chart was stacked.

1. Tim Tebow - one of the GOAT cfb players.
2. Cam Newton - future #1 overall pick, one of the greatest college seasons ever.
3. John Brantley - consensus 5*, most prolific HS QB in FL history.

What else could he say? You didn't expect him to say, "I don't know what the frick we were thinking" did you? A lot of guys become great passers in one year of junior college. Right?

ESPN recently had an article about the rise and fall of Floorida under Urban Meyer. Article described Cam as lazy and entitled during his time at Florida. He became more disciplined and focused after leaving Florida

No offense, but no shite. A superstar talent was frustrated sitting on the bench for two years and potentially a third behind another superstar talent.

He transferred, got to play, won a juco NC, transferred, won another NC, and his attitude improved.

Much easier to be focused when your the man playing for titles then it is being the backup in college staring at 3 yrs on the bench.

Good thing Auburn is such a great institution that is so good at putting its athletes back on the right track in life

It's an ongoing investigation.
