2000-2006 keeps Alabama from being closer to Michigan. Two ten win seasons but 4-9, 3-8 and a bunch of 6-7s mixed in.

But seriously, how in the hell is SMU only 10th on this list?
Can't forfeit games if you don't even play them in the first place.

quote:No. LSU had to forfeit 37 wins from Les' tenure because a booster paid $180k to an LSU offensive lineman's dad, after he had played at LSU.
That may be so, but I am pretty sure that poster is being facetious, implying Les Miles was a poor coach, yet they will boast about his national title.

True story: You could make a good argument that he's the greatest coach in LSU history if you base it solely on what coaches did at LSU.
That's the craziest part about it. IF the guy wasn't so stubborn, LSU would have won a LOT more. But, the goal is to win the game and as you've stated correctly, there is an argument for him as LSU's best coach ever. It KILLS me to type that sentence.

Whew, what a difference Kirby Smart, his nasty haircut, an existential threat to Rush Propst, and a quarter of a billion dollars to buy players made...

I think he's the one y'all gave $180k too.

Sadly, even Tom Herman would be killing it right now. QB sneaks from the one are easy to call.
