So did Art Briles, Kevin Rumlin, Jumbo Fisher and Gene Chizik to name a few. But sure, hang your hat on that

LSU then hired Woodward as their AD. He hired Brian Kelly and signed his contract that guarantees 90% of his remaining contract as the buy out. I thought it was around $80 million, SidewalkLicker says it is only $66 million.

It would actually be about $60 million if he's fired after this year.

Why would you think it's around $80 million? It was like $85 million on Day 1 and we're three years in.

It was VERY embarrassing. We had begun to take for granted beating LSU every year. I guess 10-2 over the last 12 isn’t too horrible. But you are right, losing to Kelly was when everyone realized Saban had lost a step and time was catching up with him.

Because this is the first thing that pops up when you google “Brian Kelly contract buyout”.

This would've basically been the number had they fired him after the first season.

Imagine losing to a coach like that, damn

Beating Saban in a regular season game by 1 point is, quite literally, the biggest win of Kelly's entire coaching career.

Texas A&M is not now nor ever has been an SEC powerhouse. How any astute observer of the SEC could call them that is beyond me.

After watching Kelly at the presser last night, I can tell he means business now.

Knowing LSU's luck y'all would still win a natty with Napier.

We might, actually. There’s a certain amount of chaos and berserker required to win a championship at LSU. See Miles and Orgeron. It’s just how we roll. I’ve come to the conclusion that is the missing ingredient with Kelly. He’s too buttoned up and predictable. It’s possible that a guy like Napier could trip and fall face first into a championship here. Remember the trick play he tried to run against UGA last year that went horribly wrong? That play works 10/10 times at LSU.
