NCs were ambiguous at best in that era. Bama's 118 NCs are proof. So, that isn't as great a measure as you might think.
Plus, UGA didn't draw Bama that year. So, who knows?

Vs. Gt = UGA 18 pt win; Bama 23 pt win
Vs. OM= UGA 7 pt win; Bama 24 pt wins
Vs. VANDY= UGA 41 pt win; Bama 41 pt win
Vs. Uk= UGA 27 pt win; Bama 45 pt win
Vs. AU = UGA 10 pt win; Bama 16 pt win
Vs. ND = UGA 7 pt win (postseason); Bama 7 pt NOV loss sandwiched between LSU and Auburn.
(Feel free to double check; am on phone and distracted, but think I got it right)
Plus, 5-3 over a 40 year period is hardly such a marked advantage that justifies saying LSU sucked over that period while implying UGA wasn't just as sucky in the aggregate

Assuming you and your son both had kids young (~16), that is 77 + 32.
I'm guessing you are 109 or you married a much older woman and count her grandchild as your own.

Pretty cool actually remembering guys like Earl Campbell, Dorsett or Walker run. TV was a big hit or miss though back then. When you were able to watch the headliners, you watched it.
