Depends on how it might happen. Coaching error (epic), Bama just out plays us, probably not as bad. We can compete with Bama and I see us playing with house money right now.
But I would argue that if LSU loses, if they win out they have a better than average at the playoff. 3 top 10 wins in 7 games, no one else can say that.

Alabama is favored by double digiits, has more coaches, has a tad more roster depth, game is in Tuscaloosa.
Of course Alabama will win. They absolutely should win. If Alabama does indeed lose, they will have lost a game they should have - on paper - won.
Doesn’t mean I won’t be cheering and hoping for an LSU win, though. LSU has a better chance this particular year than they have had in a while.
There will be no melt for me... I’m going to enjoy the extremely Rare experience of watching #1 vs #2 regardless of the outcome. (The last time CFB had a regular season 1vs2 matchup...2011)
Assuming the game is competitive and fairly close, the actual outcome really doesn’t matter as long as Bama and LSU take care of business to close out the regular season... with OU’s loss and Auburn win over Oregon and Notre Dame out, Both Bama and LSU are getting in the playoff.
