The discussion wasn’t for the OP (he is steeped in his opinion) but for the moderate folks that don’t see the things I listed. Most folks that don’t buy ammunition don’t know that inflation caused by policy has made a 9.00 box of 50 rounds 9mm rounds fluctuate to 15-20.00 a box(in an election year that box goes to 30.00 a box).

Carjack an old lady at a red light" again, do that in a small town and 99 times out of a hundred, just like in NY or LA, bystanders will watch shellshocked and only react as the car speeds away. And, of course, infinitely small chance of it happening anywhere.

Actually it’s incredibly rare in anything but democrat run urban areas.

quote:

Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store". Again, just as likely to get shot in Atlanta doing this as a small town. And it is just as likely to happen per capita in a small town.

In Atlanta it would spark a riot, in Thomson Ga no one would bat an eye.

quote:

Cuss out a cop, spit in his face". The same shite will happen in Chicago as will happen in rural Illinois. The cop will over react and you go to jail
overreact? Wow.
In Atlanta or Chicago it would start a riot and the cop would be fired, the idiot would get a check. In Thomson Ga the cops family or friends in jail would beat his arse.

quote:

Stomp on the flag and light it up". No doubt folks in rural areas are far less tolerant of free speech...not exactly a ringing endorsement of rural life though for the vast majority of people. And, again, as likely to happen in a small town as a large city.

In Atlanta or Chicago police would stand by and watch.
In Thomson Ga the last person I know of that tried it had a crowd beat their arse.

quote:

Got a gun that my granddad gave me They say one day they're gonna round up Well, that shite might fly in the city, good luck" Fevered ramblings of an apparent victim of mental illness. No one wants your gun. No one is coming after it. If they ever do you can be guaranteed that it will happen far easier in rural areas than in cities just based on numbers alone. It ain't a thing but if you suffer from irrational fears logic ain't your strong suit to begin with... "Full of good ol' boys, raised up right If you're looking for a fight"

My grandfather left me a Japanese Type 39 rifle he traded for. Ironically it’s a weapon of war that wouldn’t be banned. It’s the stuff from the 60s that most idiots want taken, and stuff that has never been used in a war by either side(no military has even used an AR15 or semiautomatic AK47/74 that I am aware of as an issued firearm.

quote:

This last one is probably the silliest. Folks who are raised in small towns have less education, earn less money and do not live as long as people in urban areas

The condescending tone coupled with pure ignorance is astounding really. It was less than a decade ago Atlanta public schools were graduating kids at a rate under 50%. And today it’s under 85% despite scandals, lower standards, a ton of money being thrown at it. Are you just pretending the crime riddled, poor, and uneducated don’t count in Atlanta now? For comparison Thomson highschool in Mcduffie county is considered a poor shite school and graduates at the same rate as Atlantas public schools. And both Thomson (a quasi 3rd world shithole) and Atlanta both have a 18% poverty rate. Yes some areas in Atlanta are well off enough to pretend the no go zones don’t exist, but the same can be said in Thomson GA, stay out of the projects and off 2 short streets and it was a great place to live with land and money.

Man, I come here to make a sarcastic comment about Jason Aldean

Do it anyways. This thread couldn’t support Andean for his musical abilities (obviously) and doubt 3 posters in here (me included) could name three of his songs.

I think the song sucks.
I agree with what he’s saying in the song but the song is awful. I hate that type of “country” music.

There are nealy 11 million people in Georgia. About 6 million of those are from Atlanta. On any given game day there will be about 120,000 or so in Athens which is a medium sized city, the 6th largest in the state. That is 1.09% of the state. Thus the vast majority aint going

It’s definitely not country and only serves as fodder for the ignorant elitist left.

Yes, as well as a decent number of numbnuts, MAGA tough guys.

I have a decent number of buddies that have shown a lot inner douche based on this song, cosplaying like they are going to show up law enforcement when in reality they are desk dwelling suburbanites who were never tough to begin with and care more about their annual trip to Seaside than they do second amendment rights.

The last 12 years have shown a retreat of general decency on both sides of the political spectrum. This song should merit an eyeroll but for some reason it is a rallying cry for frauds.

that is my understanding of the song

Who writes your posts for you? How is it possible for someone who knows some words & can even put them in the right order (occasionally) to so completely misinterpret that song?

Its either intentional or you're just dumb... I don't have time for either.

As someone who grew up in a small town nothing you've said here is accurate.

But no one is coming for your guns. SO when in the fevered imaginations of the chronic sufferer of irrational fears is this confiscation going to happen? Nothing you included includes confiscation. Not a word of it.

The shift began in W Bushes second term. He didn’t push back and wanted to be a friend to both sides but the middle of the road is not what we needed. Obama had no business being president and he did everything he could to fundamentally move the needle left. And it worked. What was the moderate left in the Clinton administration became the the far right and what was unthinkable before became the mainstream left.

I’m a conservative leaning moderate that hasn’t changed a core principle in 30 plus years but by today’s standards I’m considered far right.

It's a system of confiscation by elimination. It's a tactic that has been used by anti-hunting groups to stop hunting for a long time. By putting so many limitations on certain things you eventually eliminate that thing entirely.
