the SEC rules on visitor tickets are being reconsidered.

This is the first I've heard of this. Reconsidered how? Forcing us to seat more visitors in the lower bowl or less? After years of giving visiting fans primo seats, LSU will finally banish all but the minimum number required to the new south endzone upper deck in 2014. It's about freaking time too!

And I had to pay $85 for a student ticket. $85 seems kinda steep for Miami to charge opposing students

Again, Miami didn't designate certain tickets or certain sections or certain prices for Florida's students. There is no such thing as a "visitor student ticket." The home team gives the visiting team it's allocation of tickets, and the visiting team designates them to it's donors/fans/band/students.

It was a joke, they don't have an upper deck at Ole Miss.

Apparently Miami didn't give lower level tickets, and that is why Foley said, no more home and home series with Miami. If they want to play us in the future, it has to be a neutral site.

I think MSU actually chose that, and elected to sell their allotment in the lower bowl.

It was MSU's choice. Usually only pep bands will be seated (in the SEC it's always up to the visiting team's AD) in anyone's upper deck since they don't have to go down to the field for halftime.

Now, Alabama's awful lower deck seating, where they used to split the band over an entrance tunnel in the corner of the stadium--now that was ridiculous. Seemed like a deliberate snub to me. Not just to MSU, but to every visiting full band. For a pep band the location was fine but not for 300+ people.

We don't force our opposing teams bands to sit in the upper deck.

Auburn, on the other hand, has very nice band seating.

Yes. And we don't even let Auburn bring their band.

That was a seriously shitty move by the Ole Miss administration.

We made Georgia Southern sit in the upper deck 2 years ago. But usually the visiting bands like Auburn, Arky, A&M, LSU, and UT sit in the lower bowl.

When I was in the band and we went to South Carolina we sat literally on field level. That's lowest I've ever been in any SEC stadium. I guess that's just how Williams-Brice was built.

Good thing they're young college students and not 50 year old fatasses. Sousaphones really aren't that heavy, either, it's the bigger bass drums that are the worst.

MSU is most famous for being accused of this. We brought the entire FMB to Alabama in 2002, my first year at MSU, then Bama returned the favor and brought the full MDB in 2003. Their AD chose to seat them in the upper deck. Ole Miss' band usually sits in the upper deck as well, and again, that's up to their administration.

Smaller schools that don't care, like Jacksonville State, Troy, and Jackson State, seat their bands in the lower deck.
