Not sure what you were trying to say, but one of my degrees is from Alabama. I was accepted at Univ of Miss, but turned them down.

A 16???? On the ACT? That's pathetic.

To be fair... I believe that Ole Miss and Miss St. are required by law to lower admission standards as part of an agreement to match the academic admissions criteria of the HBCUs in the state.

I've never really felt that a selective admission percentage was a fair component of determining whether or not a school was great. There are too many influences in politics etc to make this as meaningful as it could be.

Honestly, there is not a bad academic school in the SEC (but of course some are better and more highly regarded). You can attend any of them and learn your field well enough to make it in this world. All of them afford great opportunities for making contacts in your field.

Graduated in December, starting grad school in August.

Received a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science.

Just like the numerous other threads on this topic, looks like once again majority of the Bama posters are students and alums, who knew?

Ole Miss is so desperate on this board for posters to care about them and get some attention. I'm a LSU alum. LSU Eunice but a proud Bama sidewalker. Without side walk fans of college football, the rest of the SEC would be as popular and of the quality of Division II football, or the equivalent of Ole Miss historically.

In other words, no one would care, the product would suck, and we wouldn't have this troll/flame thread.

Also, I was the 26th person to downvotes the op.

I am a proud sidewalker. I have been a fan since I can remember. As was my father, my father's father, and so on. I caught the tail end of the Bryant years, remember the Perkins years, suffered not beating Auburn during the Curry years, enjoyed the Stallings years, have amnesia from 1997 - 2007.

There would be no 100k seat stadiums or such without sidewalk fans.

There were folks in my neighborhood back when SOS was winning big at Florida that flew the Florida flag in their yards.....Those same folks now are flying Bama flags.

The bulk of so called Bama fans around these parts couldn't find Tuscaloosa without a GPS.

Haven't thought about those in awhile. You're dating yourself. I'm old too. Spent many a night drinking 3 dollar pitchers at the monkey then trying to pickup some late night Budweiser queen at sidetrack. Good times..
