He'll stay till he finds another job he really wants, I expect that list is pretty short. I suspect that list may not be what people would expect either.

It certainly won't be because someone tries to pay him more. Nobody can if Arky wants to keep him.

Petrino will stay at Arkansas till he wins something big. His buyout only drops to a really large amount for like the last two years of his contract until then no school in their right mind would touch his buyout.

Whoever thinks UTHorns would even consider touching him is nuts........I think the worry is more when "The Sabanator" is going to leave for Austin. Anyone who thinks he will stay forever is a crackhead, he loves himself and money too much.

Then what will you do with the statue you put up? Too honor him that soon with the Bear was an insult to what Bryant did for years. And you think a statue will make him stay? UT got the money, Gumps do not.

Well that certainly limits the shite talking. However I think Bama fans also get to see the non fricking around side of arkansas fans. We actually aren't delusional we just think it's funny to watch LSU fans act like the world is ending when we say arkansas is a good team.

i agree that Texas can out bid anyone they want, but money isn't always what drives these coaches. if you're making $3m a year and things are going good, you really have to weigh the risk & rewards for putting yourself & your family in a pressure cooker for an extra $1 or two. BUT, something Texas may be able to offer that would be luring would be the chance to win a national championship... not that Petrino can't do it at Ark, but it would be much easier at UTx.... better resources and he doesn't have to beat 9 SEC teams in a season.

So tell me what other national stories has BP been involved in besides bad one? Il wait. Exactly. The biggest stories of BP don't paint him in a good light. Sorry

The media needs someone to hate. Petrino doesn't seem to mind and most Arkansas fans are glad to have him.

Also, there are good stories about BP but they don't make it nationally b/c as I stated, the media needs someone to hate.

-BP donated a nice sum of money to help Arkansas Children's Hospital. They named the wing they built after the Petrino family.

-He took the football team to help the folks of Joplin, Mo. after they were devastated by a tornado.

Theses kinds of stories won't make national news, nor do I care if they do. Arkansas and BP are a good fit. He knows it and we know it. I think after moving around so much BP has found out the grass isn't always greener. I do believe he will finish his contract at Arkansas after that, who knows?

Agree 1000% - Arky wants to pay millions for consistent 9/10-win seasons and occasionally beating some big dogs. BP likes to be paid lots of money (who doesn't?), and enjoys the benefits of less pressure to win hardware.

I'm happy to have Petrino. Anybody who saw him eulogize Garrett Uekman at the vigil knows what kind of a man he is.

BP's record has improved every year since he has been our coach. So I guess over the next few years we'll see if 10-11 win seasons are his ceiling at Arkansas.
