A&M's always made sense. Mizzou still seems like a B1G team though.
I agree. I'm glad they're in the SEC but they still seem out of place. aTm is a great addition. SEC needed to be in Texas.

Funny... I was just thinking this weekend that Arkansas and South Carolina still feel like recent bolt-on additions that don't quite fit in. That's not a dig, just a personal reflection.
I differ with you here. To me Ark feels like an SEC team now...especially since our games have been such charged atmosphere's the last decade or so. I'd say they have felt like an SEC team to me since at least the late 90's. USCe no so much...but I think that is because we have played them so little.

Well, It's been since 92 SC and Arky has been in the SEC and they still feel new.

won't be "real" SEC teams until they get probation for some recuriting violations.

how ever long it takes them to get SEC depth - 3 or 4 years for TAMU (just a guess), not sure about MO
2 years.

Never. Hell, Arky's still getting hazed
Kidding--think it'll be sooner rather than later before we get a sense of "belonging," but it'll happen eventually.

This year's freshmen and the next few classes at both schools will always think of themselves as "SEC".
I went to Arkansas only 5-6 years after the transition and I have never thought of Arkansas as anything but "SEC". As far as older fans of other schools, it will depend on their age and how often they play you.
When you finally have students who hate LSU more than they hate Texas, you'll know A&M is "SEC".

Wait a damn minute....TAMU and Mizzou are now in the SEC???

TAM in 3-4 years of better recruiting. Mizzou? Never. TAM understands old school football heritage and southern heritage. Mizz is a lost big 10 team. I never wanted to invite them to our SEC party, I wanted West Virginia. They would have fit better. I bet Mizz still calls soda "pop".

Arkansas still gets shite. South Carolina was accepted pretty quick.

They'll feel like "SEC" teams in 2029 when we add Iowa State and Cincinnati.

I can see A&M being SEC faster than mizzou. Theyre right next to us and itll be like the mississippi schools for LSU. I actually think a&m and lsu may develop a rivalry bc lsu recruits in texas too.
Mizzou.....idk. Thats for the east to decide. LSU fans feel nothing for USCe bc we barely see em.
LSU feels Arky is very SEC bc theyve given us hell for years lol. the boot is definitely SEC.

I think they fit in well. They will both become much better football teams as time passes becaue they will play up to the competition. It will help them in recruiting that they are playing in the premier league in college football.
