Well Terry Bowden had a good first year. How did that end up? Tubby was great till BAMA recovered from probation. How did that end up? Chiz had a great second year. How did that end up? Oh but it's different this time. Right.

Auburn always busts a nut when a new coach beats BAMA, then that coach's agent works a killer new contract with a huge buy out that Auburn has to pay up on in a couple of years after that coach is exposed as mediocre. Not opinion. History.

Dude, when you talk about BAMA, you need to show BAMA the proper respect by using the proper capitalization.

I saw that you left the 'b' lowercase. BAMA isn't just a proper noun, it's the most proper noun and, as such, each letter should be capitalized.

BAMA. Get it right.

Seriously, I've always fricking loathed that shite. It's one of the multitude of reasons I stopped visiting Alabama homer boards. fricking idiocy.

Auburn has a wonderful recent history of a coach having a dream season then diving head first in mediocrity

BUTTT

Tubbs was hindered by crazy back room boosters that don't exist anymore and Chizik was, well, Chizik

Gus is bringing a fresh new offense that wins football games so maybe he breaks the cycle

Same for Auburn homer boards. That's where the crazies live.

What sucks is when they break ranks... and find their way here.

It doesn't take long for them to show it either.

I swear to god. Not two and a half days ago, I was talking about how Auburn fans were rising above the standard bullshite around here because they were secure with their team, going go the 'ship and all.

It didn't even take one day before Irons Puppet showed up, made a shitty thread and they started crawling out from every crack in the wall.

Then Nick agreed to his extension and our shitty posters started coming out of basements and attic crawlspaces and shite and here we are.

Do you really wanna play this game? Or do you just not know bamas history with coaches?

Re former coaches

Perkins probably left due to the pressure and for better pay in the NFL

Curry was most likely forced out after going 10-1 in the regular season with his only loss being the 1989 Iron Bowl (not to go negative but that show that bammer fans also have aubsession just as many AU fans have a bammersession.

Stallings - solid hire and Beebs left on his own terms but most likely left to the administration

Dubose - our version of the Chiz but without a NC to show for it

Pappy Price - he never even coached a game

Shula - I sure do miss him but was most likely fired for the same reason that Curry left - he could not beat AU

Saban - Let him go 10-2, 9-3 and 11-1 and not win an SECC or a NC and many fans would start saying the game has passed him by, he is getting too old, etc..

Not really about time, more so about winning percentage. Won't hurt to avoid last-minute crushing defeats to traditional rivals due to incomprehensible play calling.

He did beat Spurrier twice in 1999...

It's kind of sad that I still remember that fondly as a high-water mark for our program at the time.
