He is not at Alabama. So Mark Emmert won't protect him.

At FAU the NCAA doesn't care. No money there.

Kiffin spent one year at UT and we had the NCAA sniffing around for two years after he let.

Cheating in recruiting to Lane is just like chasing pussy. It's something he just can't help doing.

NCAA investigation at Ole Miss in three years max.

You read it here first.

You're a little late and slow. That's already been pointed out multiple times in multiple posts here.

Anything come of it? Didn't think so.

What has Lane done recruiting wise in the past that makes people think he will be an NCAA issue?

Technically yes. While they were here for Kiffin was when they discovered the infamous Bruce Pearl BBQ picture.

if I recall, most of his issues at UT were secondary violations and largely attributed to his own ignorance with the rules. The big issue was the "hostesses" traveling to visit recruits, which I don't think was ever tied directly to him and or likely had been a practice before him.

I'd say Bruce Pearl's hosting recruits and lying about it was what brought the NCAA attention around that time frame. They just got a bit more interested in Lane as they dug around.

Ole Miss just got off sanctions. If Kiffin gets them in trouble again, that should end his career.

The fact that this same thread has now been made 47 times by every fan base is a clear indication of fear.

No, the hostess thing brought them in.

If Pearl had fessed up immediately instead of lying. He would still be Tennessee. He loved it there and we loved him.

Yep! Nick will demand an investigation.

No way he lets Kiffin hand out nicer cars or larger cash stuffed envelopes.

Actually, Kiffin managed to duck any personal reprecussions but Tennessee got 2 years of probation and a "failure to monitor" finding.

Pretty impressive for a little more than one calendar year of work.

One thing you do have in your corner is that I'm absolutely certain Kiffin knows how to run a burner phone operation.

You better be nervous.

This article says it all. He caught the NCAA'a eye at USC and UT.

Need I say more?

quote:

USC's hiring of Lane Kiffin in 2010 drew ire from the NCAA infractions committee. It may have played a role in the Trojans receiving sanctions relating to improper benefits received by running back Reggie Bush about half a decade prior.

Multiple members of the committee mentioned the Kiffin hire as they attempted to settle on a penalty, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times on previously sealed documents released by the NCAA. The NCAA had tried to keep these documents sealed, to no avail.

Committee member Rodney Uphoff criticized the hire and said the Trojans "need a wake-up call that doing things the wrong way will have serious consequences," according to the Los Angeles Times. Committee member Roscoe Howard also mentioned the hire in an email, saying the lack of institutional control penalty was "a very easy call for me."

A previous NCAA investigation into Tennessee found that Kiffin and his staff made improper phone calls to recruits during his one-year stint with the Vols, even after he was warned. Kiffin, now the offensive coordinator at Alabama, also picked up a failure to monitor charge because of improper visits to recruits made by his staff.

The dude is 44 years old. He isn't the same dude he was when at Tennessee. Not after USC, Alabama, and FAU. He is much more mature and professional today.

So the worst thing lane has done was made an improper phone call to a recruit and get hired at USC?

Well hell that man is just the worst.
