Essentially, the website used a formula to convert betting lines into rankings. So according to Vegas, here’s the college football top 25 entering the season (USA Today Coaches Poll ranking in parenthesis):

1.Alabama (No. 1)
2.Oklahoma (No. 3)
3.LSU (No. 6)
4.Clemson (No. 2)
5.Florida State (No. 4)
6.Tennessee (No. 10)
7.Ohio State (No. 5)
8.Michigan (No. 8)
9.Oklahoma State (No. 19)
10.Ole Miss (No. 12)
11.Stanford (No. 7)
12.Georgia (No. 16)
13.Washington (No. 18)
14.Oregon (No. 22)
15.Louisville (No. 23)
16.Houston (No. 13)
17.USC (No. 17)
18.Notre Dame (No. 9)
19.UCLA (No. 24)
20.Auburn (NR)
21.North Carolina (No. 20)
22.Florida (No. 25)
23.TCU (No. 14)
24.Texas A&M (NR)
25.Nebraska (NR)

I'm still confused why people have LSU that high and totally lost why Auburn is even in the top 25.I know LSU has an amazing stable of running backs but their qb isn't anything to write home about..

Living in NO, the sports radio stations are hyping the shite outta LSU and I dunno why. They're changing their base defense with a new D coordinator and it's virtually the same O as last year.

I see LSU with 2 losses in November and they'll fire Miles.

We should not be if you basing it off wins and loses this year. WE are probably better than 5 or 6 teams in the top 25 but our wins and loses will not show that this year

If I am forecasting the season, we should not be a top 25 team

Vegas respects the SEC a lot more since $ is at stake.

Why OU continues to get so much love is mind boggling. It's every freaking year only to be embarrassed with true competition. One win over Bama and they are perennial top 4

And I actually like OU fwiw

Maybe it's because it's early August in a market saturated by LSU fans? Pretty much every team's local media is putting a positive spin on offseason changes and whatever else there is to be optimistic about. It's his radio works. There can only be so many Finebaums and Cowherds who make their living by trolling and pissing people off, and both of them are syndicated.

LSU has one of those in Glen Gilbau, but he's a beat writer and not a radio host.

Just stop with this "their QB" shite. We know, he didn't look great last year. His SOPHOMORE fricking year and first starting year. Very few QBs look good as starting sophomores. Generally QBs improve from their starting year. To think that Brandon Harris won't improve is beyond stupid. We don't need him to be a great QB, just a serviceable one.

I've said it before.....Texas, Oklahoma and UGA have done less with more over the years than anybody in the country.

Ole miss is a little too low, but it's better than the coaches poll.
