News flash: pre-season rankings screw up the ranking system over the first 6-8 weeks of the season. Usually it's the SEC getting the positive bias, this time it's the B1G and Big 12.

One of the benefits of starting the season off ranked high.

Only team in the nation with 3 road wins over P5 teams. All 3 of those teams have winning records too
TCU has won more road games already than A&M will play all year

the polls have never been resume based. they have always been eye test best team votes.

Because the pollsters, very astutely, watched the LSU games against Eastern Michigan, Syracuse, and Mississippi State and realized how pitiful your team looked sans Leonard Fournette.

And it will all work itself out with teams starting to play each other. Realistically, Ohio State and TCU should be bottom 10 teams right now.

Polls are stupid. Michigan will be ranked a top 8 team after beating Michigan St. this weekend.

They're both average teams with abysmally weak schedules.

LSU would beat Lol Miss by 4-5 touchdowns even without Fournette.

Several teams have dropped actually. Mich St being one of them. Even Auburn fell after (barely) winning in the beginning of the season.

I think a LOT of you have problems with the concept of an 'OPINION poll'.

Ya know what's gonna really hurt? When the NCAA sticks that big probing dildo up your arse.

Because they are a damn good team? That question was pretty easy to answer. You are bashing their schedule, while LSU hasn't played a team with a pulse yet. Confused by your logic...

The polls were done by whoever was in control of Hillary's emails

According to Jeff Sagarin TCU has played a tougher schedule so far than LSU
TCU 46
LSU 49
And that is with an FCS opponent for TCU dragging their number down unlike LSU

One issue this year is so many teams played no one OOC and thus you have a lot of undefeated or 1 loss teams because many haven't played anyone in conference yet.
If you look at the Big 12, they have 2 "signature wins" as a conference this year in 2 "escape" wins for TCU over Minnesota and OU over Tennessee. Neither Minnesota or Tennessee is a remote contender for their conference mind you or even their division of their conference but they are wins over B1G and SEC schools. No one else in the conference beat anyone. Baylor is sitting at #2 and have played SMU, Lamar, Rice, Texas Tech, and Kansas with everyone awed by their offense. Of course, the best defensive team out of that group is Rice at #111.
Michigan State is living off their big win over Oregon but Oregon is terrible this year. Michigan is going to cornhole them this weekend. Ohio State hasn't beaten anyone and has struggled mightily against some terrible teams.
Utah is a team that is very underrated at this point because they have ben getting it done on the field. A&M has a good argument there as well but playing Bama and Ole Miss the next 2 weeks will sort that out.
The real hope is the Committee recognizes this and adjusts accordingly.

they started higher in the always ridiculous pre-season polls.

The computers say TCU is about right.
They also believe Florida and A&M are underrated and LSU is overrated.
I'm using the massey composite.
