They have to be needy, b/c without football, they have nothing. LSU has Baseball, Track & Field, Golf, Softball (Bama does have that), Basketball…….the list goes on.

Both teams(Bama and LSU) got put in adverse situations, LSU in a much friendlier environment being in the Superdome Bama at UT in front of 105, 000 not so friendly.
One team came from behind late to win, finding a way to get the job done in spite of not having things go their way for a lot of the game. The other did not because they were not good enough.
Good teams find a way. Shite teams do not.
