Didn’t Mzinger call 90% of the plays?

Why do you even need one

Same reason other schools have one. Because having one person with all of the same ideas is dumb.

Yes, Ensminger did call the majority of plays, but the collaboration with a qualified assistant helped aid the progression and set up of those calls, and allowed quicker recognition of defensive scheme changes. This new experienced offensive specialist should be able to continue that tradition.

The one big thing missing--an amazing QB who brought great pocket presence, escapability, target progression, defense scheme analysis, running ability, and throw accuracy-all with persistence, leadership, will and a chip on his shoulder. Most of those attributes can't be coached in a season or two.

And this is imperative when you have a head coach with no ideas.

He had an idea of winning a national championship and your coach can't beat him.

Not very significant since Bama is in decline now.

It's really hard for one person to keep up with all of the open receivers we had against teams like Bama and UGA. Two sets of eyes helps alot

We also upgraded the offensive analyst team.

The PGC hire is a very good fit for the stage of development the LSU program is at.

We implemented the spread RPO.

Now LSU is going to extend and vary/improve the offense.. the QB coaching.. the WR coaching. And play design.. in game adjustments...play calls.

This will all be decided on the field. If Brennan and the WR group dedicate themselves like last off-season. The offense will be in very very good shape.

Perhaps UGA's recent hiring of 2 OCs will fill that need nicely.

I love it when these clowns try to criticize Orgeron. All they're doing is shitting on their own team.

Honestly, everyone will speculate, but no one knows or will know until after a few big games next year.
