* They begin workouts with a true strength and conditioning coach, not just the volunteer history teacher down at the high school.
* Their workouts occur on top notch equipment, not broken down 30 year old nautilus machines - developing muscles and techniques they have never used before.
* They are pushed by their competition and the new recruits who are hungry to take their spot on the field.
None of that happens at any other school.

Richardson was huge even in high school. The guy lived for workouts.

Both LSU & UGA took Bama to the wire this year - played them toe to fricking toe - either team could have won those games. Does LSU or UGA do anything differently with their weight/conditioning program than Bama does? 'Cause both those teams looked just as strong and powerful as Bama looked, AND played damn good football too.

Back when I was an athlete at Miami in the mid 1980s there was a team directed steroid program through the strength coach.
I'm really skeptical that happens today. I have no doubt there's still a ton of PED use but it's on more of an individual/teammates helping each other out type basis.

Just looked up the weights for Hilliard, Hill, and Ford. They have gained 13, 15, and 16 pounds respectively since arriving on campus.
Two of those guys have only been out of highschool for 2 years, by next year they might have put on 20 pounds. Ford is known for his speed, so he might not want to put on as much weight.

If he puts on 20 pounds he will be playing DE. Kid is a beast.
Also as an LSU fan we dont have much room to talk with LaRon Steroid Landry just a few years ago.

Most players continue to gain weight all the way through their 2nd or 3rd season in the NFL. Putting on 15-20 pounds during 4 years of college really isn't anything out of the ordinary if a guy has an unfilled frame when he arrives on campus. The human body doesn't even stop growing until 21-23.
No idea why anyone thinks it is just a Bama phenomenon. Did no one see Todd Gurley this year? Motherfricker is huge. Lattimore is huge. Hill is huge. The 6'1" 225 pound power back has become somewhat commonplace in the SEC.

They know he has a track record of preparing his recruits to go to the next level, the NFL. ========= Nah, it can't be any of that, it must be steroids.
No football players are using Nautilus machines. They use free weights. Also, the best football players coming out of high school often go to a place that trains athletes.
Secondly, there is a such thing as genetic potential. The bigger you get, the harder it is and the longer it takes to build a smaller amount of muscle.
Once you are already developed from years of working out, 10 pounds of muscle per year is about the most you could possibly hope for naturally. Plus, players lose weight throughout the football season.
My brother plays college baseball, and they all lose weight throughout the season because they aren't lifting like they do in the offseason.
So it would be hard to build even just 10 pounds of muscle when you are an athlete and not a bodybuilder.
So if you see an athlete who was already built coming out of high school get a lot bigger in college, it is 100% steroids. And I'm not saying any particular player is on them, I'm just giving information.

Lacy doesn't look that muscular to me. At least not like this
