But then other programs (FSU, Tenn, etc.)seem to always shite the bed?

Give Saban, Miles and O credit not every coach has succeeded at LSU; but the answer is simple: It's the Coach AND the Program.

LSU has much more potential than anyone in the SEC. The ratio of NFL talent per capita in Louisiana is 3 times that of Texas, and LSU is the only major College Football in The State. If anything LSU has underachieved historically.

Coach O made 2 bold and excellent coordinator hires.

What?

Who? Joe Brady is a coordinator, but I'll give you 1.

Hot bed recruiting in Louisiana with little in state competition. Hire somewhat serviceable coordinators and you’ll be fine on talent alone

Louisiana produces a ton of talent and they don't have to share the state with another Power program (such as Alabama/Auburn sharing a state). They also have Ocean to the South, Mississippi and Arkansas to the North (which are not a threat), and while they border Texas to the West, the distance between Texas & Texas A&M and the main population centers of Louisiana are so far, they aren't much of a threat either.

This is something that is so underrated I have always harped on. Proximity to recruits vs. Dilution from other programs.

actually Dinardo started it. unfortunately he refused to fire his DC so he got canned with him.

Nick Saban won a NC with LSU. Things were bad and he made sure the facilities were updated and was able to get started with getting top players. Then left it as a top 10 school in football. FSU was the opposite! Fisher left it in shambles!

It’s helps that we never were terrible before making a hire.

Saban went pro, and Lea wasn’t bad just not as good as we wanted.

Good recruiting across the board and a great amount of staff continuity didn’t hurt.

Would les miles, or coach Orgeron be as successful at Tennessee as they were/are at LSU?

Nope, probably not.

I wonder why?

They wouldn't have gotten a top 10 team the year before! They would have to rebuilt it from scratch.

Tennessee doesn’t realize it yet, or maybe it’s just deep entrenched denial, but their football team will be a consistent bottom dweller. They have fallen so far, and have been there so long. They’re likely going to be the Nebraska of the sec forever.
