Not saying he's as good as Matthieu, but he's cut out of the same mold. Not the best measurables, but a hell of a gamer. See's the ball, hits like a mac truck, and is always in 5th gear.
It is easy to root for a guy like that. I'd say ultimately, by the time he's a senior, he may get an All SEC mention (2nd or 3rd string) but that will be about it.

He was defensive player of the year in highschool in two separate states. He enrolled early at Alabama and got playing time over some good recruits Alabama had at safety.
He can certainly hit and he's fearless. He's very reckless the way he throws his body around. He's a football player that gets every drop out of his abilities.
He has a nose for the football and just make plays. Far from just average, doesn't have ideal measureables, but he can flat out play.

There's an old saying that big time players make big time plays in big time games. To be LSU's best playmaker he sure left his abilities at the house when he played alabama. Hell mathieu deserved the offensive MVP as much as AJ

He's no Honey Badger, for sure.
Otherwise Vinnie would have 36" inches in punt returns in addition to a bunch of tackles waaay down field.

Fast forward to the punt return at the 59:00 mark of this clip for an introduction to Vinnie Sunseri. "Arrives with ill intent" is a good way to put it.
Sunseri hit.
Sunseri hit.

LsuTool apparently continues to have issues with Bama.
Sadly, her condition began with an onslaught of stats in the fall of 2011 and she appears to be on an exponentially accelerating downward spiral into the abyss of depression. Or it's menopause.

Honestly the kid reminds me of a John Lynch. Not supremely talented but a helluva motor. Very smart football player that gets the most out of is limited ability by working his arse off.
this.
He is a good player and was as only a freshman. He will only get better. Anyone that says differently is trolling.

yeah that's one game. Don't act like Bama had some great offense vs. LSU in the title game.

Fire shall be fought with fire...water doesn't work with when LSU fans start a fire, facts and stats are the last thing they want to hear

Trent rushed for 96 and AJ passed for more than 230 with an excellent completion percentage, not to mention bama was exceptional on 3rd down conversions. Pretty good offense considering they great unit they were opposing. And yes, Mathieu was abused

i think he's better than average; he's got good football smarts being Sal Sunseri's son...and hits like a mofo.
I would compare his skills and potential to that of maybe...Adam Archuleta. Adam started out as a walk-on and LB at AZ St....
Adam Archuleta was an absolutely freakish athlete. I don't put Sunseri's athleticism in the Top 5 for your starters on Defense to be honest.
A guy like a Jack Hunt who has above average athleticism but extremely good instincts, absorbs scheme & tape, and can translate that knowledge and mental acuity into on-the-field play and incorporate quality instruction on technique and play within said scheme can play dominate football without a hyperathletic physical freakish type of ability.
But I can tell ya'll one thing, Vinny's gonna get a big push from Landon. If LC doesn't see the field then LC ain't gonna be happy. What 5-Star that puts on a self-aggrandizing act like that would? But beyond that, I'll be surprised as Saban loves to get "the best 11" on the field in some way.
I'm completely confident in saying that LC will be one of your best 11 players if he can get the reps at Camp & absorbs the Defense fast enough.

If Landon pushes anyone it will be HaHa, another five-star. Vinnie will be on the field.
I don't see LC cracking the top three safties, maybe he'll get some snaps in the dime.

coming from the guy who says Vinnie may be twice the playmaker TM7 is?
ok

yea, that punt return for a TD vs Arkansas in the "game of the century jr" as well as 2 forced fumbles while playing out of position were nothing. Not a big game or anything.
Those punt returns vs UGA in the SECCG game meant nothing as well. Just another ho hum game vs some no body team.
Oregon, UNC as a true freshman, aTm in the cotton bowl. The list goes on and on. Man, you are dumb.
The hatred you gumps have for TM7 because he knocked out Dre is so strong it blinds you from the facts. Saying TM7 doesnt show up in big games is just as dumb as all you idiots saying Miles could never have a season with less than 2 wins and LSU would crumble when Saban's recruits graduated.

So they still haven't watched the replay isos where Dre was thugging it and loving it with TM7 on the previous special teams plays evidently?
Ole Dre is pure as the driven snow but its tough to admit that one of your own is bad apple.
I'll admit that TM7 was raised in an extremely difficult situation and came up through childhood with a chip on his shoulder to put it MILDLY. A lot of kids would've done other things but he found athletics and youth league football provided him an avenue out.
But as usual, the lack of context in most of these discussions is what hurts the arguments on both sides.
TM7 needs tons of structure in order to succeed and he's gotten it, which is really lucky for him. He knows he blessed as well.
Kirkpatrick was being just as thuggish and talking just as much & doing just as much, but that's gonna get glossed over by those who look at only one play.
I've watched it. Its obvious both of them were putting some SERIOUS poor sportsmanship if not outright thuggish play on display against each other.
Two wrongs don't make a right for anyone. They were both classless in their dealings with each other on the field. They're both better players than what shows on the tape.

that I will agree with. LSU's D had no swagger that day and it showed. Of course if I knew the whole offensive game plan was running through Jefferson it would be hard to get fired up.

Bama just found a way to use his height against him. It was possibly Mccarron's best game of the year I think.
