How fractured is the LSU fanbase over the Miles saga?

Brando said on Finebaum that there were people with access to the LSU football program that knew nothing about football.
People making big $$ decisions.
Can the fans get behind whomever is hired? Or do you squabble amongst yourself for a decade or so?
As a Bama fan I know where this can lead, trust me.

You trust Brando's opinions?

This is going to turn out as a clusterfrick of absolutely epic proportions.
Let's all just sit back and enjoy these next few years.

Firing Miles has done more to bring this fan base together than anything else that's happened in years

This is true of literally every big program

I know that you're really hoping for LSU to crumble but it's not going to happen. Sorry bud.
Orgeron is leading LSU to Atlanta.

Brando doesn't speak for us.

This is pretty much the most united we've been...

LSU is united. It was time for Les to step down imo

Not that my opinion matters... But you asked, so I'll answer.
I'm one single fan, and I'm fractured over it. I understand the fans that wanted Miles gone. He clearly has not been able to recover from the Bama BCS blowout.
That said, I just don't think firing the most successful coach in the program's history mid-season helps the program. Ultimately, it boils down to the fact that he was the man that replaced THE Man. He was always at a disadvantage in the eyes of the average LSU fan. He simply was not going to live up to filling Sabans shoes.
So now there is a new measurement for the fans to rally behind.. Instead of fans crying "he isn't as good as Saban, he got to go!" ... Now they get to say about the new guy, "well, at least he's better than Miles!".
Will that happen on the first guy out the gate? I hope so. But I'm not holding my breath.

1. Tim Brando was completely out-to-lunch on the Finebaum Show today. He has NO IDEA what is going on in Baton Rouge. What he described is LSU Admin circa 1986 not 2016.
2. I was a Miles supporter and not particularly critical of his regime PRIOR to the Wisconsin game. It became apparent that he did not change his O at all for this year as he promised. I walked out of Lambeau and, for the first time, thought Les must go asap.
3. It appears to me that the LSU fanbase is more united today that at any time since 2007.

I think if this had happened a couple years ago as many people wanted, or even in November, the pro and anti-Miles crowds would have been split fairly evenly. However, with the way things looked through the first four games, considering the staff should have gotten the wake up call and had all offseason to make changes, I think it's as pretty close to a consensus as you can get with one of these situations. Even the most ardent Miles supporters, myself included, believe it was time to make a change.

I'm all for the power of positive thinking. But no need to be delusional.

I get what you are saying. When Bryant retired and Perkins came in I myself wasn't all that crazy about it. But Coach Bryant choose him and that was good enough for me.
Never wanted Bill Curry, the resentment began. Gene Stallings brought the fanbase back together.
Fan favorite Mike Dubose was an epic failure. Mike Price, Fran, Shula. So you see how bad things can turn if you're not careful.
