Very different when it comes to some positions, but LB, Edge and at least one corner will be good.

Guess we'll see in our rematch with the Suckeyes in game one?

Most talented in CFB with 5*s at every position, but very young. Probably a 3-4 loss team next year due to inexperience, but likely title favorites in 2026, especially if Hill returns for sr year, and a stone cold lock in 27 if Arch stays

Simmons #1 7/9 tech in 24
Burke 5 tech
Vasek #7 5 tech in 23
Terry #1 3 tech in class in 25
Shaw and Brevard are portals for NT and DT
Charles #3 1/2 tech in 25
Sharma #4 0 tech in 25
Lance Jackson #1 5 tech in 25
Smith Orogbo #1 7/9 tech in 25

Barnes #1 MIKE in 25
Hill #1 MIKE LB in 23
Jonah Williams (#1 safety 25) likely converts into Will

Muhammad #5 FCB in 23
Kobe Black #6 BCB in 24
Phillips #4 CB in 25
Littleton #6 CB in 25

Taaffee returning all American at FS
Filsaime #2 FS in 24
Derek Williams #2 box safety in 23
McDonald #2 athlete in 23 at Bandit

Don’t forget Derek Williams, he’s a stud when healthy. He was starting games this year

Also Lefau and Ethan Burke.

Defense might be better overall next year, but replacing CB Barron will be tough.

We do lose some DL but I feel pretty good about the replacements.

Barron replacement is only real concern imo

If he doesn’t jump offsides he’s already better than Cam Williams

Insider Texas is reporting that he’s considering staying for another year.

I think Taaffe will return based on NFL draft looks
I thought he was out of eligibility? In any case, good college safety, not sure he has the speed for an NFL defensive backfield.

Texas won’t lose guys to the portal because they pay more to anyone worth keeping. You always get the occasional 5* who just doesn’t pan out so I’m sure a few will transfer out but they’ll just rob Peter to pay Paul

The secondary is losing 3/4 (maybe only 2 if Taffee decides to stay), but they have solid replacements.

Taaffe was a walkon who earned a scholarship.

He had the highest PFF rating in College Football and was an AP All America.

I think he will get a favorable NFL draft rating and his highlight film will answer whatever questions anyone has about his measurables.
