I cheered all the Mississippi schools when I was growing up. Peer pressure led me to MSU and I, for some random nonsensical reason, began to associate State with winning and wealth and hot women.
Then reality paid me a visit.
Later, I went to Ole Miss to interview at Pharmacy school and just loved everything about the place. The landscaping, the Square, Oxford, the women (although there are beautiful women on every SEC campus), even Rebel Radio. Just suited my personality.

Recruited by GT, attended my first game in Athens in 98 for the UGA/GT game. Quickly changed my mind. Decided I wanted to walk on at UGA. Tore my shoulder up in the gym before I graduated. Never attended college. Does this mean I can't be a fan?
I've never played for the buccaneers, but I'm still a fan.

Pretty cool to know a good bit of fans attended their teams school, good stories about how people became fans of schools who have lived on opposite ends of country too

Every year at my elementary school we would go and meet Jackie Sherrill at the local John Deere where he would give us autographed MSU hats.
The first year I went, I came home with the State hat on and my family told me to take that hat off because I was a Rebel.
For the next 14 years it was me against the world
I'm very fortunate to have gone to Ole Miss.
It's one of the best escape routes out of Mississippi.

Arrived in Baton Rouge at a month old after my dad finished his stint in Army.
LSU fan from that moment forward.
Earned BA and MBA from LSU and PhD in surviving Curley Hallman's tenure.

My dad was an Ole Miss grad so I was an Ole Miss fan until I succumbed to peer pressure at an early age and the Razorbacks got in my brain. But I still consider myself to be a Rebel fan...but not so much when Ole Miss is playing the Hogs.

Curious, why all at same institution? Not many do that.

I grew up in a family of UT fans and wanted to go there. I was accepted and had a music scholarship, but they were notoriously stingy with money (at least at that time). I knew it would be a strain on my parent to send me there, so I was having second thoughts.
I visited LSU for a music workshop the summer after I graduated and fell in love with the place. They gave me a full ride plus a monthly stipend, plus TGBFTL gets paid, as well. Never looked back. Literally an offer I couldn't refuse, but I was already won over before the offer came.
LSU has a bigger and better music program than UT, so I'm glad I visited the campus. I almost backed out at the last minute, thinking it was a waste of time.

Evening MBA program paid for by work. I worked in Baton Rouge for five years after college. My dad also went to LSU's evening MBA program. It was dirt cheap in the 90s. Not anymore.

I was a product of my mother and her brother giving birth to me, and then aborting me down into an Alabama outhouse and I've been yelling "Roll Tide" ever since.

My father and grandfather are boosters, been going to Bama games since I was a baby. Went there for a few years before transferring.

Good friend in High School committed to LSU. My first game in Tiger Stadium hooked me for life.

Grew up in Baton Rouge. Rooted for LSU, but State was always my #1 due to family connections. Currently attending. Hail State.
