I was actually going through pictures on my phone the other day and saw my pictures from that game. Take me back
It was one of the best game days/games I've ever experienced. Everything was perfect.
We ended up driving back to Baton Rouge that night because everything shut down in Tuscaloosa and my buddies in DKE and Sigma Nu were being lame af

In the LSU game he was way to conservative, or allowed a way to conservative offensive game plan and play calling.
It wasn't "great defense" as much as too staff's with puckered asses afraid they would make the first mistake and give the game away.
In the Auburn game he passed over realistic FGs after a couple were missed, then at the end goes 180 and with the FG instead of a knee and beating Auburn in OT.

Bama missed a lot of fg's.

Brandon Gibson ran a hideous route or it was game over to Bama.
Apologies to Norwood. Of course he didn't, he was clutch.

Disagree with 2011. LSU's team was loaded everywhere. At that point I'd say even the QB play was comparable--AJ was still doing the bare minimum. Lee was managing the games. Jefferson was brought in to run sideline to sideline against those LB'ers.
I'd say LSU was the superior team that year. Les just shite the bed in January with his stubbornness.

LSU had terrible LB's and QB's, but every other position was stacked. Alabama had a terrible FG kicker. That's why LSU won that game. Alabama coulda, woulda, shoulda won that game if it wasn't for some McCarron brain farts.
As good as LSU was that year, Alabama was the better team. I don't think Alabama fans would've been surprised if they won. As an LSU fan, I was in utter disbelief that night.

That pass wasn't any better.

2011 LSU and 2011 Bama were the same team and both matchups were won by the team that made the least mistakes and the team that capitalized on those mistakes.
9-6: Bama missed opportunity after opportunity and made mistakes (missed fgs interception on the goal line, penalties, etc) and LSU took advantage.
21-0: LSU made the mistake of sticking with with Jordan Jefferson even after it was obvious that he was not getting the job done and Bama took advantage.

Reid is nowhere to be found if dumbass doesn't run him right into the guy. Then again, I don't know why we called a gadget play there anyway. It was our best drive of the game.

Simple, LSU was just as good.
The loss in NOLA was coaching. LSU had the worst dumbest, most poorly conceived game plan I have ever seen in the rematch.
It was obvious what bama was going to do in the rematch. If you go back to that game thread, I remember posting in it before the game started that bama would come out using a short controlled passing game because they knew from the first game that they could not run on LSU at all unless they loosened them up. Also, was obvious bama would be prepared for that quick sweep to the outside that beat them the first time.
Bama came out throwing to the TE as predicted. LSU should have KNOWN that was coming. Inexcusable they were not looking for it early. Was so obvious and predictable and LSU should have game planned to jump those routes and get a quick early int.
Then LSU came out running that same damn play to the outside that Bama was absolutely ready for and had been practicing to destroy for a month. Result was negative play after negative play.
Then off course LSU got behind and had to put pressure on Jefferson which everyone knew would result in a disaster.
2011 LSU was just as good as 2011 Bama. Coaching lost that game for LSU. Saban is very predictable and logical. How LSU wasn't ready for bama that night was bad.

I remember watching that game vividly. ESPN was pumping up that game for 2 weeks. Michigan lost to Iowa earlier that day and I wasn't even that bummed about it. This was the biggest game I could remember since the '06 Michigan - Ohio State game.
I remember LSU playing very, very physical on defense. The defensive line and safeties played incredible. I remember one the LSU safeties (not sure of his name, but not one of the more prominent players) really blitzing and sticking it to Trent Richardson a few plays. That defense was stiff.
LSU really should have scored on a few plays that I remember. One was on a Russell Shepard catch in the first half. He was wide open. It was a bad throw that made him hold up to catch it, but he burned the secondary. Another was on one of the blocked field goals. LSU almost had a chance to take it to the house. I think the player tripped over his own feet. The other was on the Morris Claiborne interception. He also should have taken it to the house.
As much as the national media was whining about it being a boring game, no touchdowns, etc, my buddies and I loved it. Great, great physical defense. Very intense game. We all laughed at how much bigger and more physical the LSU and Alabama teams were to our 11-2 Sugar Bowl team.

Hence why I said MADE, not attempted. Is what I said false?
