We have played nobodies but we have not had such defensive performances against patsies in a long time. This is a good sign for us regardless of opponent.

You realize this stuff is self-fulfilling at this point, right? Every team who got a beatdown is going to be at the bottom of the stats.

No, I am using FEI opponent adjusted stats. These are not raw stats.
FEI Ratings
The biggest problem with them is it's only week 2 and it's having to use previous years data as a placeholder for now.
You'll need a different excuse.

Tennessee hasn't played a decent team yet either.
Texas and Georgia are really the only ones who have played anyone decent and had good results.

While NCSU isn't great, they're still the 3rd best team any SEC school has beat.
While Michigan is solid, their offense hasn't looked great this year, even when they played a cupcake. For me Texas learned a lot more about their offense than their defense in the game against Michigan.

the epidemic of fans using YPG as their metric for offensive/defensive efficacy is wild to me

NCSU is more of a defensive team, offensively they are terrible and well below average.
