People said the issue was LSU scored too quickly to give the defense time to rest. It doesn’t matter if you score quickly passing 98% of the time or if you run it more.

That was never the problem, LSU's defense struggled to stay healthy until the last few games.

Yeah LSU was 37 pass, 33 rushes last year on average. Quite a bit different lol. That being said, a lot of Leach short passes are similar to runs.

Only time this is a problem is if your quarterback has an off day or you pay a team with excellent linebackers.

I am more interested to see how he effects local recruiting. If you are a LA HS highly ranked WR, you gonna go play for O or Leach? A QB in AL. Wanna sling it around? Leach. He is gonna be an issue.

One of the funniest things on Saturday was LSU in all their hubris offering a State committed WR Malik Nabers a few hours before the game. Guess they thought they'd make some sort of a show. Well, it was a show, but probably not what they expected.

he cant spell defense and he will never have a great defense not enough 5's and 4's want to go to Wash St or Miss St ..plus he wont be there for a long time anyway ..he'll do or say something stupid ..lose to some really bad teams along the way and go get another gig that will treat him like a king for 2-3 yrs ...NOW , if he starts to beat LSPeww ,BAMA , Aubbon etc... consistently then he could turn the tables ..but thats doubtful

Same as he’s always been.
He’ll have some decent seasons, and he’ll have some lousy ones.

Is the crowning achievement of Leach’s care beating a depleted LSU team?

No beating #1 Texas that finished 12-1 & ranked #4. If TX doesn't lose to Leach they would have played in the BCS National Championship game.

Fast scoring, high turnover offenses leave the defense on the field and they will all wear down if not given an even chance to rest.

This is the dumbest and most overused narrative about Mike Leach's offense that's out there.

Leach's offense is a ball control offense. His teams usually control time of possession.

Its like the defense isnt getting rest unless the game clock is rolling. The main issue i see with his offense is they arent really set up to bleed out the clock with the run game, which almost became an issue against LSU.

Leach's defense consistently rank in the Top 25 in plays defended per game

This always has been and always will be the problem with his system.

A Leach coached team even W/OUT an elite defense is dangerous...

IMO he reminds me of Bobby Petrino with a touch of insanity and borderline personality disorder..

It became an issue because LSU was still in man coverage so Leach was still taking shots.

When State breaks off four or five seven minute drives against a soft Arkansas zone on Saturday, maybe people will start to understand.

Leach will run the ball more if he has the players to do it. He had 2 seasons at Tx Tech where the offense averaged over 100 rushing yds per game and a 3rd season avg 99.4 yds per game.
