I feel the same way about Tiger Stadium's size and I see it just about every day. Sometimes I catch myself thinking "damn, that thing is massive."
Yup. Used to go on runs past Kyle Field 3-4 times a week, and after awhile you can't help but get used to it.
Then you leave for awhile and come back and it hits you all over again

Even I'm having a hard time fathoming it and I've been around the thing since I was a kid.
I was speechless the first time I saw how much bigger it looks now. Crazy how much it has changed since we were little.

We've definitely seen our share of change with regard to Kyle. My earliest memories are of the horseshoe and the actual track around the field

Now look at it. LOOK AT IT

I used to love the hedges on the other side of the stadium that would have a huge dead spot at the end of the year from the Cav shooting it with the cannon.

Yup
Speaking of which, where is the cannon gonna be at now? Used to be in that courtyard on the south end but obviously that's not there anymore.
This has probably been covered on TA ad nauseum, I know

Brace yourself.
The cannon is gone.

The cannon is gone.

Da hell you mean, "GONE"?!

According to TexAgs the cannon will no longer be at the games.
If true that has got to be the worst fricking mistake that they have made since they hired Fran.
ETA: Sorry didn't mean we don't still have it, but we might as well not. The Rangers might have to stop Parsons from shelling the admins instead of Waco this time if this shite is true.

That's a solid like 6 miles as the crow flies probably. I mean I know BCS is flat but damn. I bet the the view of it coming over that hump in Highway 6 just south of Fitch Pkwy is absolutely awesome
I haven't been to College Station lately, but I'm willing to bet that you'd get a nice view of the A&M skyline from the massive hill (in respect to the regions topography) on FM road 244 (East-Southeast of CS heading towards Anderson) right next to the intersection with FM 3090.
Another sweet spot to see the new Kyle Field would be on FM 60 east bound between Somerville and Snook. I remember driving through there once and catching a nice view of the Kyle Field sign on those rolling hills.

Took long enough, but New Army might finally have arrived at the gates of hades

Wasn't there some sort of crazy troll thread last off season about how texas a&m/college station doesn't have many trees?
I remember that thread, too. And what was talked about was merely a question of degree.
However many tree your campus has, campuses like LSU, Alabama, and Florida have quite a bit more.
In fact, I remember posting in that thread...something along the lines of "Clearly, we have a different idea of what having a lot of trees means."
I also posted I understood why...the relative amount of water in Baton Rouge vs what's available in College Station.
TAMU
LSU
LSU, after all, is building a River Model Facility in the new Water Campus downtown...
Just FYI...

Nah, man, there were posters weeks after the fact in other threads running with the idea that there were no trees at all on the TAMU campus. And they weren't trolling

Some people will take an idea and just run with it. All you can do is just walk away. I think you know my feelings on the matter...Texas A&M is my new favorite school after LSU. You guys are great.
