Pandy Facklers take on Burrow, LSUs receiver and coaching in 2019 was the worst take I’ve ever read on this board

And that’s saying a lot

Sorry I don’t run on pure emotion like many here. Occasionally I do like to look at the actual numbers.

Yeah, that one didn't work out the way you thought it would. Guess you didn't look at the numbers well enough

You are hanging your hat on yards per attempt? That is your argument for why Nuss is better?

Nuss is last among that group in yards/game, completion %, touchdowns, touchdown/int ratio, interception rate, and QB rating. Yards/attempt?

It's definitely a factor. At least the NFL seems to think so.

I never said better.

You named a prolific passer and a heisman winner. And Nuss is right there. But yeah, he sucks.

Maybe your emotions are causing you to lose your perspective after all

The last two SEC players to have over 500 passing attempts in a season were Will Rogers and Bryce Young in 2021. Both were first year starters

Rogers appeared in 9 games and started 6 of them in 2020.

It's a weak QB class. Look at how weak the 2025 class was in the draft, yet many of the top QBs in the class stayed in school for another year. I don't care how much money they are making, if they were 90% sure they were gonna be a first round pick they would've entered the 2025 draft.

I never said he sucks. I just said that last season he was a middle of the pack quarterback who struggled with turnovers in 3 of LSU’s losses.

You asked for an example of another first year starter with 525 or more attempts who had better stats than Nuss. I gave you the only two in the past 15 years who meet that criteria. Both had better stats than Nuss. More yards per game. More touchdowns. Less interceptions. Higher completion percentage. You don’t seem to like it, but the numbers are the numbers.

An SEC QB having over 500 passing attempts in a season is an anomaly. There have only been 4 in the past 15 seasons.

Nussmeier appeared in 9 games and started 1 of them in 2023. So last season wasn’t his first as a starting QB. At least using sidewalk logic.

There's a big difference in starting a single bowl game and starting the majority of the season.

I understand this likely baffles you, but I'm here to help guide simpletons such as yourself through this great, big world.

Nope, too late. You already proclaimed that this will be Nussmeier’s third season as a starter.

To be fair, Lagway is like 6th and he had 12 TDs, 9ints and a 57 QBR. It’s based entirely off expectations.

Which was also a shitty take, but you're a ragebait flamer with nothing else going for you in life, so that's to be expected.

Well, capn, to be supertechnical, Nussmeier did not start any games in 2023. He started in a bowl game on January 1, 2024.
I know, it was the 2023 season, I'm just pickin' at ya. All in good fun.

every qb every year in Austin is the Heisman front runner

Their fans accept no other reality from the media

Here is where Nussmeier ranked among SEC QBs last season and whether he was above or below the league average.

Completion %: 6th, above
TDs: 3rd, above
TD %: 9th, below
Ints: 1st (tied for most), above
Int %: 9th, below
Yards/attempt: 12th, below
QB rating: 9th, below

In terms of efficiency stats, he was middle of the league. QB rating is supposed to be a good way to evaluate and compare quarterbacks. He was 9th last season. He did throw it a LOT.

Attempts: 1st (77 attempts more than 2nd), above
Completions: 1st, above
Yards: 2nd, above
Yards/game: 2nd, above

To use a baseball analogy, something LSU fans understand, he had the most at bats in the SEC. But he was middle of the pack in batting average, home runs per at bat, and he struck out a lot.
