It's like in NCAA when you play and you keep winning championships so every other team gets bad but it's not a video game

When Alabama beats Florida in the SECCG it will be the first time in major conference history that only one team from the conference finishes with less than 4 losses. How did the once mighty SEC fall to where it is today? Two main reasons Alabama recruiting and coaching

Nick Saban has kicked out all of the great coaches in the SEC. Urban Meyer had a heart attack, Les Miles was fired for being unable to beat him, and Mark Richt was fired for being unable to pass them in the SECCG. The 5 football powers in the SEC have been
Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Florida but this year proved not even Auburn every 3 year natty run could stop the Crimson tide.

Now replacing these coaches has been flat out failures trying to get a copy of Nick Saban by hiring an unproven discipline of him. Georgia with Kirby Smart, South Carolina with Muschamp, Florida with McElwain than others with just bad hires Ed O and Butch Jones.

Alabama always is stealing recruits out of Louisiana (which kills me), Georgia and Florida. They choose who goes there leaving the SEC with their leftovers and a huge talent gap in the trenches between alabama and the rest of the SEC.

Once Nick Saban leaves the SEC will return to its dominant ways. I agree. With coaches getting canned and the young up and coming coaches being afraid to come to the conference, the SEC has taken a few steps back overall. Saban's presence has put Alabama at the top, but created too much parity in the middle of the SEC. When he retires we will look more like the B1G, 4 at the top, 4 in the middle and 6 at the bottom.

In all honesty how many national titles in a row until other fans just stop watching? It's pretty damn boring to watch a movie when you know how it ends.

Good thing the SEC shares revenue equally, or this thing would be going the way of the Big 12.

Your post is exactly right but you're just going to get a bunch of smartass gifs and memes regardless.

Seems to me that the AD's and fans of the other teams have ruined the SEC. Our fans didn't call for ouster of your coaches, you did. Rather than chasing Nick Saban and Alabama they should have been building up their own programs. It isn't Alabama's fault the other teams lost the games not played against Alabama. If some of you had won every game but the Bama game you'd be in the Playoff too.
It is lazy to blame those who excel for your failures.

I know right, I noticed quite a few empty seats in BDS for the iron bowl. The attendance will continue to drop if there is more parity year in and year out.

I dont think Saban is remotely close to quitting. At some point if UA stays as dominant as it has looked the past two years especially on D, someone is going to question is it coaching or players and how does he get all those great players. I mean recruiting at this level has never been seen, so how does it happen every year?

Alabama has exactly one national title in a row right now. So maybe people will at least stay tuned in to see if Bama can repeat.

Other SEC programs need to man up. Win every game on your schedule and get beat by only Alabama and your arse in ranked in the top 10 with a shot at the playoff.

It's not Saban's fault Auburn lost to Clemson/aTm/UGA.
It's not Saban's fault LSU lost to Wisky/AU/UF.
It's not Saban's fault UGA lost to OM/UT/Vandy/UF/Tech.
It's not Saban's fault UT lost to aTm/USc/Vandy.
It's not Saban's fault UF lost to UT/Arky/FSU.

Saban signs the same # of players each year as every other program. Every program listed above brings in great talent, has top notch facilities, and can afford huge recruiting budgets with money poured into football.

If they are getting shite done on the field then they need to look in the mirror, not at Alabama/Saban.

Saban has just set the bar so high that other coaches are getting fired for what programs use to consider a very successful season.

You're a top ranked HS defensive player, LB/CB/DL, etc. You get an offer from Auburn and Alabama. Now, when you sit down and weigh the pro's & con's of both programs who will you choose?

Auburn - who just this season has fielded a decent D for the first time in damn near a decade and has run through DC's like shite through a goose for years on end?

Alabama - who has consistently fielded a top defense every season, consistently puts players in the pro's, and consistently finds themselves in championship contention?

Which do you choose?

Alabama stealing all the top flight recruits from the other SEC schools brings Vandy closer to the rest of the conference.

I don't see how that's a bad thing.

CFB is my favorite sport, but I'm more invested in the NFL right now simply because I know Bama will cakewalk to the national title. They are head & shoulders above everyone else.

I keep picturing Nick Saban as Michael Corleone telling Tom Hagen he doesn't have to wipe everyone out, just his enemies.

Honestly, there is a lack of elite coaches in the game today.

Saban
Meyer
Harbaugh
Jimbo
Stoops & Dabo (if you really want to stretch it)

I think most schools who are serious about winning would be willing to spend elite money to get one of those elite names, but the pool to choose from is so small, and the pool of unknowns in the coaching ranks is too much to gamble on.

So you end up with schools who can't attain an elite name and are making safe hires in an attempt to sustain their program at a high enough level so that once those elites have retired or left the game, they will be immediately ready to compete.

My point to all that is that there's no proven formula to getting to that elite level. You can back up the armored truck to one of those elite names' houses, but it's no guarantee that he'll take it and jump, and there's even a bigger chance that the schools they are at will break the bank just to keep them there.

There's not a lot of opportunity out there if you want to jump from a good to a great program. You need an elite coach to get you there...and there are far too few of them.
